Patio Furniture Re-do

I had this patio set out on my deck for years but we really did not use it very much because it was on the west side of the house and it was always too hot in the afternoon even with the umbrella up.  The fabric got so sun bleached and was starting to fall apart that I decided that it was time to do something different with it.

BeforeThis is what the chair pads looked like after I took them apart for a pattern to make the new ones.  Pretty huh?I just spray painted the table with Rust-oleum Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover2X spray paint (I love this stuff!) in the color Eden.  I did the chairs in Wildflower blue.  I then sewed new chair pads with the pattern from the old ones.  I made these reversible, so that I can flip them over when they get sun faded!   We then moved the table and chairs to the side of the house where there is more shade and no need for the umbrella.  I love the new look and we use them all the time now!  The grandkids love to eat lunch outside or just enjoy a popsicle or two.  So this was a great transformation for me!Have you re-done anything old and made it new?  It is really quite fun to do and I think that I am going to start going to yard sales to see what goodies I can transform.  My next new hobby, my husband is going to love me!:)

  1. I love this! I am going to feature it on the post I am working on for today or tonight. I am getting together a post of patio furniture that I love and yours is one! I will link back to this page.

  2. Late to the party…was this powder coated metal furniture like most outdoor stuff, and did the Rustoleum hold up well? Thanks!

    1. Kelly, Yes it was powder coated metal. The Rustoleum held up well. It was left out in the weather all year long. After many years the colors have faded, but the paint is still good, no peeling or chipping!
