Nov. 2012 Visiting Teaching Handout

Just a reminder to watch the KUTV Morning Show tomorrow

I am scheduled to be on between 7:30 and 8:00 am!

I will be showing several different ways that you can use up all of that Halloween Candy

and I would love to have you join me!

Now on to our Visiting Teaching Post:

This month your message will come from one of the conference talks.  There are so many good ones, but I tend to gravitate to the ones on service.  (Maybe that means that I need to serve more?!)

So I chose the talk from Sister Burton on “First Observe, Then Serve”

I made a magnet for the fridge (or magnet board) and also a book mark that your sisters can use in their conference magazine.

I printed the handouts, cut them out, inked the edges, added a brad to each corner of the magnet and mounted them on brown card stock paper, using pop dots.    I mounted the magnet on a wooden block that I painted brown, but you could just use the paper if you want to.  Add magnets to the back and you are done.

Punch a hole and tie ribbons in the book mark.

I simply put them both in a cellophane bag with a highlight marker to mark the conference talks with and a couple of candies to munch on while they are reading!  Tie it up with a ribbon and you are good to go!

Another idea that you can do, is to take your magazine to most any copy place and have them laminate the covers and spiral bind it all!  It makes it great to study, because it will lay open flat and it makes it a bit more durable!  (This is an old magazine, as the new ones are not out quite yet, so I had to show an old one.  But you get the idea.)

Here are the printables.  To print, right click and go to “save image as” and then save in one of your pictures files.  This is also formatted to 4 x 6 if you want to send it to your favorite photo developer.

  2. Hi Rita! Love all the things you make. Thanks so much for sharing your talents with all of us. I have a Pinterest board for Visiting Teaching and frequently “pin” your lovely items to it. I hope this is ok. Don’t want you to think I am stealing your ideas. This is a request to please allow me to pin them to share with my sisters who watch my board.
    Thank you kindly!
