Blackberry Peach Shake

My neighbor gave me some more of her blackberries and I had a few peaches off of our peach tree and I could not wait to make Blackberry Peach Shakes!  These shakes were so full of flavor and fresh goodness that I had a hard time not making them every night!blackberry peach shake Continue reading

Italian Soda Bar

Happy Friday everyone!  Are you as excited for the weekend as I am?

Today I want to share a fun Italian Soda Bar that we did last Sunday when everyone was here for dinner.

It was a big hit and everyone kept going back for more!  I have done these before, but this time I used Sparkling Water instead of Club Soda and I think that I liked them a little better with the Sparkling Water.  I also had cream that they could add to it, if they wanted to. (but I forgot to put the “creme” bottle in the picture)

These are also wonderful with a dollop of whipped cream on the top!

Patriotic Round-up

Today I decided that I would just share a few fun ideas from past posts,  to make your summer just a little bit more patriotic.  With the 4th of July coming up, maybe you could use one or two of these ideas.  Just click on the link below each picture for step-by-step directions or recipes.

This first idea, to help with your decorating needs, are these fun lollies.  They are easy to make and they are quite stunning!  I made mine into a garland and you can learn how to make your own too:

This recipe is perfect for snacking, but I must warn you that it can be very addicting!  With the sweet and salty taste, you won’t be able to eat just one handful!  It is a combination of chocolatey, sweet, salty, peanut butter, and marshmellowy bliss! This is fun to package up in individual cups or bags and looks so pretty!  There is also a story behind the name of this treat!

And last, but not least, here is a fun printable for you to use!  We all know how precious our freedom is, so let’s let it RING!  You can make it into a faux canvas block, like I did here, or you can just print it and frame it.  There is the tan background or a white version.

So that is my patriotic round-up.  I hope that there is one or two ideas that you can use for your summer fun!

Have a great day everyone!  Love Ya!

Strawberry Banana Milkshake

I hope that everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend.  My husband and I went to our cabin for Fri and Sat. Then on Sunday, my daughter-in-law asked if we could tend the kids while they went to a funeral.  So we were very spontaneous and I ended up having a sleepover with some of the grandkids.  We made a fire in the back yard and made smores, played hide and seek, and red light…green light.  Then we made grandma’s popcorn (as one of my grandson’s calls it,) because I put  real butter on it!   We ended the night by watching “Wreck it Ralph”.  The kids were all so good and we really had a fun time.  The next morning some of the boys went with their dad and Grandpa up to scout out a hunting property with their Ranger and had a great time.  The girls went to Gardner Village shopping, then to some fabric stores to look for baby fabric for this new little one that is coming soon.  We had a picnic at a fun park and then to end the afternoon the kids went swimming.  It was a fun spontaneous day.  Sometimes those are even better than the ones that you plan out so well, don’t you think?

I think that summer has now officially started! :)

Cherry Limeade

On the 4th of July I made this tart cherry limeade.  It was so refreshing on a hot summer night.  I just kept drinking it and could not get enough!  I asked my husband on a scale of  1-10 what he would rate it and he gave it about an 8.  I, on the other hand had to give it a 10!  So either way, I guess you would have to say that it will be one of our new favorites  in summer drinks!
