I have been looking for an old chair without a seat in it for a couple of months now. It is one of the reasons that I started going to garage sales! And a few weeks ago I was able to find this chair at a garage sale in Wanship, UT! It was at this really cool antique place, but I did not take a picture of it. I know shame on me, but if you are ever in Wanship, it is right on the main road across from the old Spring Chicken Inn. Anyway I could have looked around for hours, but my husband was waiting, so I just grabbed this chair and he shook his head as I loaded it up! :) It is perfect for what I wanted! Continue reading

Americana Porch
I gave in and decorated my front porch for the 4th of July. I had my flip flop wreath and ribbon topiary, but just had to change it all out for the 4th. It was my patriotic duty! :)This bench is just off to the left side in the courtyard. Continue reading
1st Sewing Lesson
I saw an ad in a local paper for sewing lessons for children and when I checked into it I found out that it was already full, but it got me thinking that it might be a fun grandma camp to do this summer with my oldest granddaughter! Since I already have her here at my house twice a week it would work out perfect.
Patio Furniture Re-do
I had this patio set out on my deck for years but we really did not use it very much because it was on the west side of the house and it was always too hot in the afternoon even with the umbrella up. The fabric got so sun bleached and was starting to fall apart that I decided that it was time to do something different with it. Continue reading
Ribbon Topiary
I am so excited about this project because the main material used is RIBBON, and you all know how I feel about ribbon! :)
I am using this as part of my decor for outside on my front porch but you could use it in so many other ways. They would be great as decorations for a party or shower, you could do it in a color theme for all the different holidays. Red, white and blue for the summer, maroon and green for Christmas, pink or blue for baby showers, or just use the colors in your home for a fun home decor accent! Continue reading
Summer Flip Flop Wreath
This week I have a few ideas for some outdoor summer decor that I have been working on. Summer is almost here and the kids will all be out of school soon, so I guess I have just been in the mood to make my little world a little more summery!
I wanted a new wreath for my front door that was bright and summery. I have done a lot of patriotic things in the past but chose to go with the bright fun summer colors this year! Continue reading
DIY Fabric Softener
I love the smell of fabric softener especially on my sheet and towels, so when I saw this idea here I decided that I really wanted to try this out! It is a very simple, inexpensive way to make your own fabric softener and it only has 3 ingredients!

Spring Letters
I found these fun letters at the Wood Connection before my trip to Arizona. I like that they say “Spring” , so that I can keep them out until May! My daughter and I got together and painted these letters yesterday. (do you like the mess, big chill cup and all) We used the easy paint technique here, that I used for the “Family” letters so I am not going to give a tutorial in this post.
I love these fun papers and the cute design in the letters! Especially the letter “i”. And of course I love the ribbons on some of the letters.
This picture has been enhanced, but I love the fun vibrant colors. I put these fun letters on my kitchen table and every time I walk by I feel like I have a early glimpse of spring right there in my kitchen! It makes me happy. We only use our kitchen table on Sunday when everyone comes over for dinner, so I do not have to move them every time we eat! :)
My daffodils are blooming, my tulips are all up and starting to bloom, my garden is starting to sprout…I think that spring is really going to come!
So what makes you happy for spring?
