New Outdoor Pillows

I have been working out in my yard trying to get everything cleaned up and getting all of my pots and flowers planted.  I like to spend most of my evenings out in my yard, so I enjoy having a “room” outside on my patio.

I like to have new pillows for this room, but outdoor pillows and cushions are quite expensive…so I usually just recover the ones I have!

Super Easy Flower Arrangement

My neighbor had a flower arrangement sent to her house for Mother’s Day.  She was not home at the time, so the florist left it with me.  It was so striking that I decided to see if I couldn’t duplicate the idea!  Her’s was made with mini carnations in different colors, but I found these daisies and mums at Costo and decided to give it a try!Easy Flower Arrangement

Strawberry Tablecloth

I have been tending grandkids for 9 straight days and I am totally worn out!  I guess that is why you have your children when you are young, so that you can kind of keep up with them!  :)  They have been really good kids, but I am exhausted.  We went to the park, had picnics, went to our cabin overnight, had our Easter party, went to another Easter party, learned how to do a rainbow loom…made lots of bracelets, went shopping, went to church and I carpooled kids from school!   Oh and we also watched after 3 birds!  I forgot how much time and ENERGY it takes to keep up with little kids!  So my praise goes out to all of you that are raising small children…keep up the great job!

Needless to say, I have not done many projects this last week, but I do have one very simple sewing project for you today:

How To Plant a Birdcage

Today I am here with a really fun project for spring.  I am going to show you how to plant a birdcage!  I love to plant pots and planters and I look for fun unique planters all year long.  This birdcage is just from Michael’s so it was an easy find, but you can use old buckets, watering cans, old coal buckets, or just about anything that will hold dirt!  You just have be sure there are holes in the bottom for the drainage.  So rusted out buckets are great! :)

All of the plants that I used in this planter are perennials, so they are really okay for me to put this outside, here in Utah!  If you are using annuals, you will want to keep your planter indoors until the weather is warm all of the time, unless of course, you already live where it is warm!
