“ites” Book Review

First of all I just want to ask how everyone is doing with their 40 day reading challenge?  It started yesterday, but you can always start today and catch up with the rest of us!  :)  I love this challenge and hope that everyone will enjoy it as much as I do.

Today I have a fun gift idea for those of you that are Mormons and have a small family or for those of you that are grandparents to small children.

It is this “ites” book:

I found out about this book through a friend who happened to have a prototype of the book.  She was telling me all about it and then I had to wait for several weeks for it to come out…but I think that it was worth the wait!

Here is the description from the listing on Amazon:

“Meet the ites! From Aaron to Zoram, get to know the prominent people in the Book of Mormon. Whether known for fearless faith or dastardly deeds, each teaches a lesson that will help your family make good decisions and follow the Lord.

Packed with fun facts, insightful lessons, and unique activities, this exciting book will help each member of your family better understand just who’s who in the Book of Mormon. Delightful illustrations bring each man and woman to life in vivid color.

The book contains 52 separate entries, each with its own lesson and activity, so it makes the perfect resource for planning your weekly family night or for quiet Sunday reading and learning. Become acquainted with the ites, and find out just how much their experiences can help us in our lives today!”

Here is the link where you can find this great book : ‘ites” book

On every two-page spread there is a story about one of the “ites” there are facts, there is a scripture, there is a question to ponder and then there is an activity that reinforces the lessons being taught for that person!

But, I think that the thing I love the best is the illustrations!  They are great in helping your little ones to learn about all of the characters in the Book of Mormon!   I think that it would be fun to hang a picture of the particular “ite” that you are studying for the week on your fridge, back door,  mirror, or where ever your family would see it, for a fun reminder of what they learned at FHE that week!

This would make a great Christmas gift to give to someone you love, so if you have not done all of your Christmas shopping yet, perhaps this could be added to your list!  (I guess that it really is that time of year, UGH!)

Have a great Monday everyone and thanks for visiting!

I along with another sister that report our thoughts on the conference talk nightly, via text. That’s been fun to get someone else’s perspective. Thank you so much for sharing the challenge!!!
