35 Day Conference Reading Challenge-Oct 2017 Conference

Today I have the 35 Day Conference Reading Challenge-Oct 2017 Conference!

Okay everyone…Are you up to the challenge???

This is for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

October General Conference 201735 day conference reading challenge

Note the change in the amount of days!  I changed it from the 40 day challenge to a 35 day challenge!!

I took out the days that said to read your favorite talk from the last conference.

One of the articles at the end of the conference talks is the new counsel format for the Relief Society and Priesthood meetings…and I figured everybody should know that by now.

So I shortened the reading to 35 days!

It is very doubtful that anyone will object! :)

The 35 Day Conference Challenge-Oct  2017 will begin on Feb 19th!  So today I have the bookmarks ready for you to print and to start getting all your supplies together!
35 day conference reading challengeThere is a front and back to the bookmark.

You can print both sides if you want, or you can simply print the reading schedule on one side.

They are formatted to 3 bookmarks to a page, for those of you that need to print multiples.

For those of you that just need one bookmark, I have included both the front and back on one page.

There are no jpeg images of these bookmarks, only the PDF download.  You can print them from your own printer on an 8.5 x 11 paper.

Click on the download that you want.

For a fun challenge, get your family, friends, or visiting teaching sisters in on the challenge with you.  It is fun to discuss your reading and compare notes!

I always recommend getting your own Conference Talks Magazine so you can mark it all up and write your thoughts in the margins!

The page numbers are for the November 2017 magazine with the conference talks.

Also,  I came up with a fun reward idea in this 40 Day conference Challenge treat that I made a while back.  Click on that link for the free printables.

sweet is the word

And, if you like your magazine to lay flat…it is a great idea is to spiral bind your magazine:conference magazine   Just take your magazine to a copy center or any place that does book binding.  It is also a good idea to laminate the front and back cover to give it a little more stability.

Or…you can also use a big paper clip to keep the bookmark in place.

It is a great experience to read all of the talks in the suggested random order for 35 consecutive days and remember the counsel that we were given in conference.

You have a few days to get everything together and we can all start together!

So this is the 35 Day Conference Reading Challenge-Oct 2017!

  1. This is kind of confusing as it’s 2018…but are you using 2017 because we are going to read the October conference Ensign? Makes sense. Thanks for doing this….I enjoyed it last year. You are super super!

    1. Kathryn, I agree, it is confusing to me every time I make the bookmarks, because they are for the last conference which was 4 months ago and last year!!! But it is for the Oct 2017 conference! Good luck on with the challenge!

  2. Thank you for sharing this Rita!! This will be our FHE lesson and I will challenge our 7 children to do this! Love your amazing ideas, even your Visiting Teaching handouts, I use them a lot xx

    1. Malae Laban, You are welcome! Thank you for sharing your FHE idea! I think that is wonderful to get all of your children involved. Good luck with the challenge!

  3. Thanks for the time and effort you put into all that you do! I have really enjoyed using the visiting Teaching ideas and I was very motivated for the last Conference talk challenge, so I am excited for this one! Thank You!!

  4. Thank you so much Rita for sharing your talents! I look forward to and search out your challenge before every conference. I have shared your challenge over the last few years with my ward when I was Ward RS president and now that I am the Stake RS president, I post your Conference talk challenge on our Stake RS Facebook to encourage our sisters to prepare for the coming General Conference. Most of the Wards print your bookmarks and distribute them out to their own wards. I post the daily talk to our Facebook page and and add my feelings or comments and give sisters the opportunity to share as well. You have most definitely influenced our Stake! Huge Thank You!!

    1. Marianne, You are welcome! Thank you so much for taking the time to write your kind comment. I appreciate your sweet support. Thank you for sharing with your whole stake! Good Luck with the Challenge!

  5. Thank you so much for all your wonderful ideas that you share so faithully ! I look forward to it each month and so do the sisters I visit.
Again, thank you , thank you!

  6. Love this!! Wish I have seen this earlier.. will you be doing one after next months conference?? That would be awesome!!:) thank you!:)

    1. Tupu, I will do another one, but it will not be until we are about 45 days away from the October conference. I do it right before the next conference, so you can review the talks again before the next sessions begins. But you can start the challenge at any time, even if you are not on the same date! :)

  7. I absolutely love this! I shared it with the sisters I visit teach and with my mom. I’ll be anxiously awaiting next conference’s challenge! Quick question, how do you choose the order to read them in? Is it just random? Or is there a system to it? Thank you!

    1. Amber, You are welcome. Thank you for taking the time to write your kind comment. The way that I pick the talks is part random and part system. I try to have the prophet’s talk(s) be the first and the last, or the prophet and the President of the Quorum of the twelve. Then I try to pick one talk from each session in rotation. So that part is random. But as I am reading, a lot of days I think…that is just what I needed today! So that part feels good! Hope you are enjoying the challenge!
