Love Sweatshirt

Happy Monday Everyone!  Are you ready to get back into the swing of life after all the holiday fun?  Our Grandkids all start back to school today, so I guess that means that we have to get back on a schedule too!  :(  It seems like the time went by too fast and I am not really ready.  I tended my 19 month old grand daughter for 5 days, starting on Christmas Day, then my husband was gone for about 10 days, so I was really lazy and just played and read 3 books and I enjoyed the holidays!  But I did get all of my Christmas put away and my house cleaned, so now I should be ready to start my routine.

Today I have a project that I wanted to try as an experiment.  I showed you how to apply iron-on vinyl and I wanted to try something to see if it would work.  It does…so now  I know that the possibilities are endless!  I did an iron-on on a sweat shirt, then I did another iron-on vinyl on top of it, to put put two colors together!  I love how it turned out!iron-on vinyl sweatshirtAll I did was cut out a simple heart of the black vinyl.  It is about 8″ big.  I ironed it on the back of the sweatshirt.  If you are making a sweatshirt, make sure when you iron it on that you are below the hood, but up high enough that you will be able to see it good.  Then I simply found a fun font that I liked, ( I tweaked it a bit, but you could just use any font). The name of this font is, CAC Champagne.  I cut this vinyl out of a pretty pink color and I just ironed it right on top of the heart!  Make sure that you flip your words horizontally so they are backwards before cutting them out!   It worked like a charm, so then I decided to add a couple of hearts to the front of the sweatshirt.iron-on vinyl sweatshirtI simply found this double heart, the size is about 3″ high by 4″ wide.  I cut one out of the black vinyl and ironed it on, then I did an internal offset of the hearts and cut it out of the pink vinyl and ironed it on top of the black hearts!  love sweatshirtThis was really an easy project and you could do this for a fun Valentines project, but I think that you could wear this all year long too!  So it is a great piece to have.  I think that it might be fun to make a matching mother and daughter set too!  :)  Another idea is to just write the word “LOVE” in big block letters and arrange the letters vertically and put them on the top of a pair of sweatpants with the word going partway down the leg!

So there you have another vinyl project to try.  These are really fun and if you follow the tutorial on how to apply the vinyl, you will see how easy it is to do!

Hope that you have a great day!  Thanks for visiting!

We did our first “Ites” family home evening last night and the kids seemed to love it!  It was a little bit chaotic with 10 grandkids…but for the most part they were listening and participating, so I would have to say that it was a success!  Sometimes you have to wonder when you have that big of a group!  :)  But I am loving this book and the fact that it is a good foundation to make a FHE lesson!
