Super Easy Coco-Cola Sign

Today I have a super simple wood project!

I have been wanting a coco-cola sign for out on my potting table on my back patio, I know that it is still winter here in Utah, but I am already getting spring fever and with the few warm days that we have had lately my “fever” is getting even higher!

This sign is so easy to make:

Coco-cola sign

You need a slat board.  I got mine at the Wood Connection in Utah, but I am sure that you could find one at any craft or wood store.

1.  I painted the top of the board all white.  Do 2-3 coats and let dry well!  Add your vinyl to the board, rub the vinyl down really well so the paint will not seep underneath the letters.   The font for the coco-cola is from dafont.com and it is called Loki Cola.  There are two different fonts and one of them has this coke logo already done!  The font for Drink is just an Arial font.

2.  Paint 2-3 coats of red paint over the whole top and the sides.  You are painting over the vinyl lettering.  Let this dry really well.

3.  Sand the entire board to distress the top.  I like to distress quite a bit.  Sand until you get down to the white paint in some areas and sand all of the edges good.

4.  Peel the vinyl off.

5.  You can sand a little more if you want to, but you have to be careful not to pull the red paint into the white areas!  Varnish the board to protect it, especially if  it is going to be out in the weather like mine.  That is all there is to this project and you are done!

I can’t wait to put mine outside with real potted flowers, but for now these silk ones are just fine.

Do you  need a coco-cola sign for yourself, or this would be a great gift idea for all those coco-cola lovers in your life!

Do any of you have spring fever like me? I am getting ready to go out and work in the yard!  My dad is coming over today to help me prune my raspberry bushes!

Yay for all the dad’s out there that help out their daughters, we love you! :)

Thanks for visiting today!  Love Ya!

  1. LOVE the sign. I just have a question about the Coca-Cola lettering. I checked out the Loki-Cola and of course it is spot on except for the first C. You said there is one that even has the Coke Logo done but I can’t seem to find it. Do you have the URL for the logo? Or can you tell me how to do the first C which has the curve at the bottom? Thanks! Great idea!

    1. There are two downloads with the Loki cola font. One is called Loki cola the other is Coco-cola, but they are both in the Loki cola download. Just type a capital C in the coco-cola font and you will get the logo.

  2. Love the idea and detailed description that you have. I am working on a Coca Cola sign. I made the sign out of pallet wood. I found dimensions on another sign on Pinterest. I will follow your directions on painting. I do have one idea that I used on other signs and furniture that I have made. After sanding, before pulling vinyl lettering off, you can wipe a thin coat of “Minwax Dark Mahaganey stain” on the sign. Then wipe it right off befor to much stain soaks in. This gives it a a distressed aged look. Then I coat it with 4 to 5 coats of Polycrylic. Love your sign

    1. Larry, Thanks for the great idea! I love that you gave it an even more distressed look with the stain. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Brook, I have rolls of it that I bought when I owned a scrapbook store. The store that I bought it from is called Regional Supply in Salt Lake City, Utah. But you can find it online or at many craft stores now days. Hope this helps.
