Our 24th of July Family Party

We had a fun 24th of July family party last weekend.  It was great because we had our entire family!  That does not seem to happen as much as it used to when the kids were all smaller…funny how that happens!

We went up to our family property for a little fishing, 4-wheeling, games and a great time being with one another.July 24th,2015This little guy caught his first fish ever!  He was pretty excited and loved every minute of it!  His dad and his uncle were there to help him out!July 24thHis sister on the other hand…caught ONE fish and she had ENOUGH!  She did not want anything to do with getting close to it!  Luckily her uncle helped her all the way and she can say that she caught one…
then she was done!  :)July 24thI think that all the boys caught several fish and they had a great time.  We were here for several  hours and they just kept going!  We had some pioneer games and talked a little bit about some of our pioneer heritage.  The girls enjoyed some pioneer coloring, word search, and we talked about different ways that the pioneers would use a bandanna scarf!  We did a lot of 4-wheeling and riding around the property.  The weather was beautiful…a little bit windy, but that kept it from getting too hot.July 24thWe had a water balloon toss and a washer toss and a bean bag toss, just a few of the games that the pioneers would have played.  The guys in the group also put a hunting blind together, so we not only played…but we worked!  (Well, some of us worked)  This was a fun 24th of July family party and I think that we might just have to make this a new tradition!July 24thAfter we got done at the property, we all drove back to our cabin and had dinner and a fun pioneer treasure hunt!  One of the prizes at the end of the treasure hunt was bubbles!  We all lined up on the edge of the lawn and blew bubbles!  We also had silly string…which I don’t think the pioneer had…but the kids had a great time with it!  :)  It was a fun time for all of the cousins to be together.July 24, 2015This little one got into all of the action too!

One of my DIL’s took a lot of these pictures for which I am grateful for!  I get too busy playing and forget to take pictures.  :)

We all had a great time…I hope that we thought a little bit about our pioneer heritage and all that they had to do and sacrifice for us to live in this beautiful state.

Thanks for visiting today…Happy Monday!
