August 2015 Visiting Teaching Handout

Can you believe that it is almost August already??  Where did the summer go? Well…I guess that it is time for the August 2015 visiting teaching handout, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

This month the message is:  Divine Attributes of Jesus Christ-Meek and Humble.  You can see the entire message by clicking on the title.

I decided to use a quote and a scripture this time.  The scripture is from Luke 22:42 and the quote is from Elder Ulisses Soares.Aug-2015-VT-000-Page-1There are two cards this month with the messages…this is the first one,Aug-2015-VT-001-tagAnd this is the second one with the message from Elder Soares.  You could use both cards or you could choose just one.Aug-2015-VT-004-Aug-2015-blankThis is the blank card for those of you that would like to translate.Aug-2015-VT-003-blank-recipeHere is the blank recipe card.  These are in JPEG format and are all formatted to a 4 x 6 size so that you can print your own, or send them out to your favorite processing center. if you want to save these, just right click over the image and go to “save image as” then save in a folder.  For those of you that would like the PDF download, just click on this link:

Aug 2015 VT

I thought for a handout that it might be fun to use some of the things that you have growing in your gardens, (I hope your garden did better than mine!  The peaches all froze and the deer or something else is eating everything else!)  Thank goodness my dad’s garden is doing good! :)  I love to make fresh salsa this time of year and so I am sharing my favorite Salsa recipe!Aug-2015-VT-002-recipe-cardThis is my favorite recipe and the secret ingredient in this salsa is the green onions!  It gives the salsa the best flavor!  You can add corn, or avocados for variation and you can add more jalapenos if you like this a little hotter.  This is a pretty mild salsa.  This recipe makes a lot, so you can share it with the sisters you teach.  You could make the salsa and give it with a bag of chips, or you could just give the ingredients with the recipe!salsa

So that is my August 2015 Visiting Teaching Handout.  As always…it is not the handout that is important…but rather it is your visit!

Thanks for joining me today and Happy Visiting this month!

The images for these handouts are from “Just So Scrappy” from the “Just Be You” Collection.

Here’s a Head’s Up for those of you that are wondering if I am going to be doing another 40 day conference challenge….YES!  We will start it the middle of August and it will end the Sunday before Oct Conference.  I will post it on a Friday for those of you that want to print it  and hand it out to the sisters in your ward on Sunday, then we will start reading the middle of the week.  So stay tuned for that!  :)

  5. Thank you so much! I know it takes hours to make these beautiful, uplifting handouts. They are much appreciated by those of us who don’t have the skill to create these. They always make me and my sisters I visit smile. My computer was not loading this morning when we went to visit, but I am taking them over later this week. They are such a wonderful reminder of the lesson all month long as you reread the message each time you see it. Hope your family is greatly blessed for all the time you spend helping us.

  6. P.S. Up here in Alaska, it’s canning season for red salmon! We just had the big run last week and so I used your canning idea to take jars of salmon to my sisters! Thanks for the great tie in with the recipe card. I hope to use your blank one to put salmon dip recipe on it and I think your idea of chips with your salsa is great, I think I’ll take crackers!

    1. Marlene in Alaska, I wish that I was on your visiting teaching route! You have some very lucky sisters to receive your bottled salmon! I like the cracker idea…thanks for sharing.

  11. I love your work! I’d like to use the blank one to translate it but i don’t know how to add words to it. Could you please help me? Thank you!

    1. nia tuku, You need to put the image in a presentation type program, then you just click on the text box and write what you want it to say and you can format the fonts and move them to where you want it. Then just print. Hope this helps

The only problem I have is to get the your items to print and on the page with out splitting the pages.
    Thank you

    1. Sandra, One way of doing this is to right click over the image that you want to print and go to “save image”, then save in a folder. This is for a jpeg format. You can then print just that image or send it out to your favorite photo processing center. The downloads are a pdf format. This month I was able to to make the pdf’s so that you can print just the page or card that you want, when printing, just click print current page on the printer options. Hope this helps.
