Ingredients
  1. 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  2. 1 cup butter
  3. 5.5 - 6 cups marshmallows (I used 6)
  4. 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  5. 1 cup Peter's caramel, melted
  6. 2 tablespoon cream
Instructions
  1. Melt Peter's caramel. Stir in the cream.
  2. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray.
  3. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Cook until it starts to brown and turn a golden color. Add in salt, stir and turn off heat.
  4. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until melted. Mix in half of the caramel mixture. Stir in the crispy rice cereal. Pour mixture into the prepared pan and pat down until it is even on the top. Drizzle the rest of the caramel over the top. Let cool before cutting into squares. Enjoy!

I get my Peter’s caramel at Orson Gygi’s.  I buy a couple of boxes a year.  It stores really well and you can reheat it and melt it down several times.  I keep some in a condiment bottle , so I can just drizzle it over sliced apples, ice cream, my caramel apples, on pancakes, cupcakes,  my fingers…or whatever I think needs a little sweetness…after all who does not love the taste of caramel! :)salted caramel rice crispie treatesIf you love salted caramel, like I do, you will definitely want to give this recipe a try.  They are an easy, quick, tasty, treat that are good anytime.  You can dress them up or down and everyone seems to love them…kids old and young love them for snacks!
