Arizona Trip 2015

My husband and I just got back from our annual trip to Arizona.  We had a great time again this year.  You would think that we might get tired of doing the same things every year…but we love this trip and never seem to tire of it!  Arizona Trip 2015We drove to Las Vegas and spent two days there.  We went shopping and watched some of the  NCAA basketball games.  We went to the Chriss Angel magic show and it was really good…although I am afraid that I snubbed Chriss Angel!  He walked right by us and held out his hand and before I figured out that I was suppose to high five him…he had moved on!  :(  Silly me!

We then drove down to Peoria, Arizona.  We spent a week there going to Spring Training Baseball games, fabric shops, eating out, shopping…and going to plays!  We were able to see “Les Miserables” at the Arizona Broadway and then we saw “Love, Sex, and the IRS” at the Palms comedy theater!  Arizona Trip 2015I told myself that I was not going to buy any quilt kits this year…as you can see…I failed miserably!  :)   I got a couple bench pillow patterns from Kimberbell,  a couple of patriotic quilt kits and patterns, fabric for mesh bags, and lots more fun goodies.   I will give more details with each project when I complete it.   But my very favorite find, was back in Las Vegas on the way home.  I found a new quilt shop call the “Christmas Goose” and they are doing a quilt of the month quilt that uses wool appliques!  They are going to send the blocks to me each month.  I have only used wool appliques on a pillow and my daughter did Christmas stockings using this technique, so I am really excited to try this!  I just keep telling myself that you only do one block a month, and then it does not seem quite so overwhelming!Arizona Trip 2015-flowersHere are just a few of the beautiful flowers that were in bloom everywhere!  I got out of the car at the hotel and the first thing I noticed was the most sweet fragrant and it was from these flowers!

I really did not take a ton of pictures on this trip…my camera was on vacation too! :)  But we had a great time in Arizona and enjoyed the wonderful sunshine and just spending time together!  After being there for a week, we drove back to Las Vegas on the way home.  We were able to see the “Elton John” show and it was amazing!  I cannot believe how he can play that piano!

All in all, we had a great trip, great weather, fun shows, lots of shopping and lots of eating out!  (although, I do have to say that I get really tired of eating out!)  It was good to get home and eat good food again.

When we got home, I could not believe all of the flowers and trees that had blossomed while we were gone…it was just like a beautiful welcoming committee! :)

So now I am back to the grind…doing laundry, cleaning house, tending kids and cooking meals!  But that is okay because now I am ready to get busy again and start working on all of my new projects!

What is your favorite vacation?  Do you just like to relax or are you on the go the whole time and you have to recoup when you get home?  We are a little more of the latter, although we do relax and do fun things!

Thanks for Visiting!
