I was planning on doing a post about meeting the Pioneer Woman today, but I am still waiting for one photo…so I am going to post these darling dishtowels instead! :)
Is anyone out there still working on your goals that you set? I am still using this book, by Connie Sokol, and I am loving the fact that I set a new goal each week and then I REWARD myself! It really seems silly that a grown woman needs a reward in order to get her goals accomplished, but guess what? It is working…so I will keep doing it if it works! My goal for the week was to clean out two, (yes, I have two) dishtowel drawers! I purged the old ones and washed and ironed all of my aprons and folded everything neatly. It looks so good, that sometimes I just open the drawer to look at how wonderful it looks! Well my reward was that I got to make two new dishtowels. I had this fabric from our trip last March and I still had not made them up, so I told myself that was going to be my reward…to make these darling dishtowels.
As I said, I got this fabric last year on our trip to Arizona. I love the vintage look of this fabric.
To make these dishtowels, all I had to do was trim the fabric down, hem the edges and sew the ric-rac along the bottom. Easy Peasy!
These remind me of the good ole days of my mother and my grandmother’s kitchens!
Do you need to reward yourself for a goal that you have accomplished? I think you do! It may not be dishtowels, but how about a nice, long bubble bath, a chocolate bar, lunch with a friend, or perhaps you have a long time goal that you have been working on that deserves a bigger reward. Go ahead, reward yourself!

I love these towels! They remind me of days gone by. I have a whole bag of the red ric rac so just need the towels.
What kind of fabric is that? Does it matter what kind of fabric one uses to make these kitchen towels?
This is just a printed linen fabric that I found last year. You might look in your specialty quilt shops for something similar. I would use a 100% cotton fabric for your dishtowels.
