Merry Christmas to “Olive” You!

I have one last Christmas Gift idea for you, I know that it is very last minute and you may just want to save this idea for next year, but  I could not show this before now, because this is what I gave some of my neighbors.  This is a fun idea for those who are watching their health.  (Which should be all of us, right?)   It is a very easy, yet great idea, because it is something that most of us would use, but don’t always buy!

Just get a bottle of olive oil and tie a big bow or two around the bottle along with this tag!

Mistle”toes” Gift Idea

I have seen this fun idea out there in blog land and thought that it was so cute that I needed to do it for my granddaughters!  It seems like all the kids have crazy sock day at school, so they could use these for that, right?  I found these darling snowman socks at Target and just had to get them, and these socks are just so soft and warm that they can wear them for slippers.

Swedish Tea Cakes

Yesterday I talked about all the different Christmas candies that I used to make with my mom when she was still here.  Today, I have a cookie recipe that I am sure a lot of you have made, but it is one that we used to make all the time just for Christmas!  These fun little morsels are so pretty on a plate and I am sure that is why my mom made them all of the time; they just look festive!

Thursday’s Thought-May Your Days Be…

How is everyone doing with all of your Christmas preparations?  I am going a little bit crazy about now!  I am realizing that there are only two weeks left until Christmas and really I only have a week and a half for all of my family gifts, because we will have our Christmas party a few days early because it is not our year for Christmas.

(We do every other year for Christmas and Thanksgiving to try to accommodate the in-laws.)

I have been sewing like a crazy lady the last three days!  I have sewn 3 quilt tops and quilted two of them!  I will get the other one quilted tomorrow and then I will have to do all of the bindings!  That is what takes me a long time because of all the hand stitching, but I guess that I will just have to put on couple of good Christmas movies and see how much I can get done!  :)  I will post about them after I  have given them to the recipients!

Here is my thought for today.

I hope that all of your days are Merry & Bright and that all of your Christmas wishes are coming true!

Jingle All The Way Picture

My friend gave me this darling picture for Christmas this year and I am absolutely loving it!  She cut the vinyl on her Silhouette machine and used darling paper for the back of the frame and added a few red glittery snowflakes!

Thursday’s Thought- No Pouting Zone

How is everyone coming with all of your Christmas preparations?  I have all my decorating done, but really need to hit the shopping and it is just too cold to go outside today, so I guess I have better work on some projects that I have here at home!

Here is my thought for today!  When my children were small I needed this sign!  So I though it would be fun to make a little reminder that you might want to print and display somewhere in your house where the little ones can see it!  :)

December 2013 Visiting Teaching Handout

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.  We had a great one even though there was a lot of excitement in our neighborhood!  One of our neighbors had a fire in their home on Thanksgiving morning!  The home received smoke damage and damage to half of the house, but it is not a total loss, thank goodness!  We are hoping that they will be able to move back in a week or two!  But it will probably take months to get their home all put back together!  It really makes you stop and count your blessings and my number one blessing is always my family, as was our neighbor’s!  Everyone was safe and that was the most important thing!

But now, here is the December visiting teaching handout for Relief Society for my church  I love that it is all about the Savior for this month, because to me that is what Christmas is all about!

I chose to focus on this quote by  Elder D. Todd Christofferson.

Stitched Redwork Quilt

I finished my redwork quilt last weekend and I am so excited to put up all my Christmas decorations now!  In fact, I had all my kids and grandkids haul up all my boxes with my decorations from the downstairs, so they are scattered in boxes all around the house!  It usually takes me 2-3 days to put up all of my decorations, but for the most part, I take my time and just enjoy it.  I usually have a little helper or two, so it goes up pretty quickly.

Here is my newest redwork project, to add to my collection:
