I have not made any homemade cards for quite awhile…and needed some for Mother’s day for my girls…so when I saw this Flower Pot Card I knew that I wanted to make them!
I love how they turned out, but I spent a few hours figuring out how to make the file work on my Silhouette machine! :(
I cut these cards out by hand, which is nice to know that you can do this and don’t need a cutting machine, but I knew that I would want to use this card for many uses, so I got up in the middle of the night and worked on it until I was able to get it all loaded in the format that I needed to save it on my machine! Happy Day! :)
I saw this post from Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker… and I loved the way that she made this Flower Pot Card, so I used some of her ideas with inking all the edges…which I have always loved to do anyway, but I loved using all my vintage buttons that I have hoarded for years!!! I made four Flower Pot cards for all of my DIL’s and daughter. They were all similar, but had different buttons and I loved each one of them! I have found a great way to use some of those buttons that showcase them in a cute way! I just used an assortment of scrapbook paper that I had on hand and inked the edges of everything. I made the “Happy Mother’s Day” tags, but I also made Happy Birthday, Thanks a Bunch, and Thinking of You tags, so now I can use this card for many different occasions. I completed four cards, but have six more that are all ready to put together and I can add the sentiment that I need for each one! I love having cards on hand…but I love even more when I have cute handmade cards on hand! It makes me happy!
If any of you would like to make this Flower Pot Card you can find the template download here at The Cutting Cafe. You do not need a cutting machine to make these cards. You can cut them out by hand. I used flower punches for some of the flowers which made it a little bit faster.I gave each of the girls a couple of boxes of these delicious caramels! I found this shop in Heber, Utah that make these delightful little morsels! They are made from real cream and butter and they melt in your mouth! They make great little gifts, so if you are ever in Heber stop in and see this darling little shop, if not check them out here: Mrs. Call’s.
I can see many of these little boxes in my future, they will make great thank you gifts, birthday treats, visiting teaching handouts, or just thinking about you goodies! Do you have a need for some homemade cards in your life? This is a fun card that has many uses and the caramels are a great little treat to go with it!
simply gorgeous…..love it
Regina, Thank you, I know that I will find many uses for this card and I am excited to make more!
Love your card ..lucky folks who receive them.
Rosanne, Thank You. I appreciate your kind comment. I am excited to make some more!
Beautiful card. Trying to pin for future reference with no success. Sometimes on your posts I am unable to find a pin mark and other times not. Any pointers for me?
Jeanne, it seems like my blog is running a little bit slow right now and I am not sure what the reason is. If you make sure that you click on the post and then make sure that it is completely loaded up, you should be able to click on the “pin” button that is at the top of each image. I hope this works! Thank you so much for your comment and your sweet support…I appreciate both! Have a great day!
Thank you. I was patient and the pin button did come up.
Jeanne, I am so glad that it worked. I need to find out what is making my site to slow down sometimes. :( Thanks for being patient…have a great day! I hope you get to make some of these cards. I have just been finishing up the extra cards that I had started. It makes me want to do more paper crafting projects! So many projects, so little time!
