Our Arizona Trip

My husband and I went on our annual trip to Arizona!  We were gone about 10 days and we had a great time.  We have been making this trip for about 7 or 8 years now!  We go down for baseball Spring Training, (or at least that is what my husband goes for!)   I go for the wonderfully warm weather and to just get away from it all!

Printable Party Invite

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I do not have a thought for you today, but I do have a printable for you!

I had to make the invites for our Relief Society Birthday activity for church, so I decided that I would share it with you.  You could use this for any party…all you have to do is add the information!

To print, right click over the image and go to “save image as” then save in a folder.  Or you can right click over the image and go to “copy image”, then open your favorite program like Word or Presentations and right click again and go to “paste”.  Or you can send this out to your favorite photo processing center, which is what I did!  This is formatted to a 4 x 6 card.

This is the invitation that I made, I included it so you could see how I added the information to this card.

So does anyone have a party coming up that they need an invitation for?

I worked on this Relief Society activity all day yesterday, so that I will be ready for it next week!

I  had to make some little fold-overs for the table centerpieces… but I got them all done so now I can move on to my next project, right? :)

I hope that you are all having a great Thursday!

The weekend is just around the corner!  Yeah!

Have a great day everyone!  Love Ya!

Keep in touch…Like on Facebook and Pinterest

March 2014 Visiting Teaching Handout

This month the visiting teaching message for my church is about being a light to the world.

I love that every month the messages focus on a character trait of the Savior, and this month the trait is:

The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ:  Light of the World.

Feb. 2014 Visiting Teaching Handout

Is it really February already? (well, almost)  My oh my, how times flies when you are having fun! :)

Here is my handout for my church’s visiting teaching handout for February.

All of the lessons this year are focused on a trait of the Savior.

I love the trait for this month:

“Good Shepherd”

I decided to use this quote from President Monson: “Ours is the responsibility to care for the flock…May we each step up to serve” but the scriptures that are quoted this month are also excellent quotes and ideas!

January 2014 Visiting Teaching Handout

I hope that you all had a great New Year’s Day!

We had a great day and went to the movie, “Frozen”.  It is a darling movie and I can see why all the kids love it…I loved it!
I was also able to start organizing a little bit, but I have a whole lot more to go!  I still have not put all my Christmas away, which is not like me, but I just cannot seem to jump in tackle it quite yet.  But I will! :)

Here is the Visiting Teaching handout for this month for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the title of this message is, “The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ:  Exemplar”
I really love the title of this and that is why I included it on this month’s handout.  I looked up the word exemplar and thought that I would include it here for you:
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
ex·em·plar
igˈzemplər,-ˌplär/
noun

  1. a person or thing serving as a typical example or excellent model.
“he became the leading exemplar of conservative philosophy”
synonyms: epitome, perfect example, paragonideal, exemplification, textbook example, embodimentessencequintessence

    __________________________________________________________________________________________________

I love this definition and especially the word quintessence!  Click on that word to see what I mean.

So here are the printables for this month:

Girl Baptism Quilt

One of our granddaughter’s was baptized this last weekend.  This was a special day for her.  In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the children are baptized when they are 8 years old.

I have made it a tradition to make a quilt for each of the grandkids for their baptism.  It has always been a minky quilt with minky fabric on the front and the back!  They are so warm and cuddly!  I also have their name and the year and “choose the right” embroidered in one of the corners.

Sinterklaas Party 2013

We had our annual Sinterklaas party this last weekend and the kids had a great time!

Sinterklass day is not until Dec. 5th, but we always have our party on the weekend when we can all be together.  We started this tradition after my oldest son served a mission for our church, in the Netherlands.  I love all of the rich traditions that go along with the arrival of Sinterklaas and the start of the Christmas season.  That is why we celebrate it every year.  It is just a fun way to kick off the holidays!   I will apologize in advanced for all the family pictures in this post, but that is what this party is all about and then also this fun guy:

December 2013 Visiting Teaching Handout

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.  We had a great one even though there was a lot of excitement in our neighborhood!  One of our neighbors had a fire in their home on Thanksgiving morning!  The home received smoke damage and damage to half of the house, but it is not a total loss, thank goodness!  We are hoping that they will be able to move back in a week or two!  But it will probably take months to get their home all put back together!  It really makes you stop and count your blessings and my number one blessing is always my family, as was our neighbor’s!  Everyone was safe and that was the most important thing!

But now, here is the December visiting teaching handout for Relief Society for my church  I love that it is all about the Savior for this month, because to me that is what Christmas is all about!

I chose to focus on this quote by  Elder D. Todd Christofferson.

72 Hour Food Kits

I mentioned last week about an activity that we had for Relief Society for our church.  We made 72 hour food kits to put in a 72 hour emergency kit.  These kits contain enough food for one person for 72 hours.  They have non-perishable foods in them.  The only thing that you have to add is water.  It would also be great to have your own portable stove or Bunsen burner to heat the water for the hot chocolate or to make the soup, but of course, you could eat these things cold.  If you were hungry, it would not matter!

LDS Conference Quotes

Last weekend was our general conference, for The Church or Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.   It is always such an uplifting weekend and I learn so much.  I always take notes but I just can never write fast enough, so I love to be able to read the talks in a few weeks in the Ensign magazine that comes in the mail!

I always take my magazine to my local copy store, which in my case is Alphagraphics and have them laminate the front and back covers and spiral bind the magazine.  It only cost a few dollars and I love that it will lay out flat and it is protected with the lamination.
