Fresh Peach Dessert

My DIL brought this yummy dessert for dinner yesterday and she gave me permission to share it with you!  It is sooo good with the fresh peaches in it and what a great way to celebrate the end of summer!  I am still waiting for all of my peaches to ripen.  My tree is loaded this year and I am excited for them to come on, but it is a race to see who can get the most when they do get ripe…me or all of the birds!  I’ll have to make sure that I win that one. :)So does anyone else want to make a fresh peach dessert?

Blackberry Cobbler

Yesterday I made blackberry jam and I had a few berries left over so I decided to try making a cobbler with them.  I already told you how much I am in love with these berries and they rang true again with this cobbler!  My husband kept saying how good this was and kept asking me what was in it that was different, so that is how good they are… for him to even notice! Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag

A few days ago I had all the grand kids over for another little water party with the blow up slide.  They love the slide and we had a great time.  For a little treat we made homemade ice cream in a baggie!  They thought that it was kind of fun to each be able to make their own little bag of ice cream.  It is really easy to do…all you need is your favorite ice cream mix, zip lock baggies, ice and salt.  Then you have to shake, shake, shake it, like this: Continue reading

Better Than “Hunting” Chex Mix

There is a story behind this title…

a while back one of my DIL’s brought dessert for dinner on a Sunday get together and when they arrived at our house, she told her oldest son (age 9) to tell me what they had brought for dessert.  He declared: “Better than Hunting Cake!”  (Remember, that this is our little hunter!)  Well, we all got a good laugh out of that and we all knew what the real name of the cake was, but he thought that was the real name.  He has a smart mom to avoid that topic!  So anyway here is a version of Chex Mix that is called Better Than Sex Hunting Chex Mix that is to die for.  You have to be careful because this one is soooo addicting!  It is a combination of chocolatey, sweet, salty, peanut butter, and marshmellowy bliss! Celebrate Summer with Lucky Leaf

I was contacted by a company called “Lucky Leaf” and asked if I would like a free sample of their products and then in turn would I write a post about it.  I was actually quite excited about it when I found out that it involved food!  So a few days later I received a fun package in the mail and I was excited to try out some of their great recipes!

The first recipe that I tried out was the frozen pie pops, who would of thought to make a Popsicle with canned pie filling?  Not me, but  I tried this recipe and they were delicious and so full of flavor.   I love the cute pop mold that they sent, the handle on the top looks like a tongue sticking out ready to lick the Popsicle!  As you can see a couple of my grand kids did the kid-taste test and it looks like they passed, they loved them and I loved how quick and easy they were to make.
