A Beautiful Autumn Day!

Okay, last week was one of those weeks!  It was very busy…not necessarily stressful…just busy.  I know that all of you have those weeks sometimes and by the end of the week you are just exausted, right?

My week started out on Monday by bottling and freezing peaches and tending kids.  It was so good to get my canning done.  We picked the peaches the Sat. before and I got 5 boxes of peaches off my little tree this year!  Then on Tuesday, I cleaned out all of my pantry…so that I could put my new bottled fruit on one of the shelves.  Wed. I went with my dad for his cataract surgery and Wed night I had to give a short talk at a Relief Society activity for my church.   I thought that I was going to bottle my dad’s peaches for him on Thursday…but my dear sweet sister sent me a text and told me that she and dad had gotten them all done on Wed. night!  I am so lucky to have such a great sister! :)  So on Thursday I went to see how my dad was doing and we took a little trip down to the  food bank (after cleaning out my pantry on Tues!)  On Friday my husband and I usually like to go to our property in the mountains and then to our cabin, but my husband was inducted into the Lehi High School Hall of Fame, during the halftime of the homecoming football game that night!  He was given this award for all of his service and time he has spent with the sports programs in Lehi throughout a great many years.  It was quite an honor and we are proud of him!

Fall Chalkboard Door

I love the fall time!

I love the cooler weather and I love the leaves changing colors and I love that the yard work is soon coming to an end! :)  I also love to decorate for the fall holidays!  Even though some days it still feels like summer, the evenings cool down and you can tell that fall is in the air.  So I decided that it was time to change up my chalkboard door for Autumn!Fall Chalkboard Door Continue reading

Thanksgiving Roundup

I thought that today I would just do a fun Thanksgiving Roundup to get us ready for next week,

with recipes, games, printables, decorations and just fun eye candy!

Here is a great site with many vintage images!  I love the old vintage pictures!

Easy Toffee Fruit Dip

Today I have a super easy recipe for you that is perfect for any of your fall gatherings!

This would be a great one to make for Thanksgiving day, as an appetizer while everyone is waiting around for the turkey to get done!  Or it would be a great treat to watch during all of those football games that go on all day long!  Like I said, it is super easy to make and only has 4 ingredients, so the kids could even help with this recipe and give you more time on the important things, like reading all those black Friday ads! :)

Thursday’s Thought-What If You Woke Up…

Today my thought comes from a little 4-wheeling trip that my husband and I took last week!  We went up on a family property that we have and it was the most awesome, beautiful, Autumn day, that it just filled my heart with Thanksgiving for all the beauty and blessings that surround us!

What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?

Makes you think, doesn’t it?

Thanksgiving Table Quilt

I finally got my Thanksgiving Table quilt done last week!  It took me longer to get to it than I anticipated!  (But isn’t that how a lot of things go?)  I am very happy with it, and it is on my kitchen table now, where I can enjoy it every time I walk into the kitchen!

Mini Baked Pumpkin Spice Donuts

This time of year just screams out pumpkin to me!

I love pumpkin pie, but it is a special treat and so I only eat it a couple of times a year!  But I love Pumpkin Pie Cake, pumpkin roll, Chocolate chip pumpkin cookies (which I had to make a couple of days ago!)  and these Mini Baked Pumpkin Spice Donuts.

Give Thanks Projects

Today I have some of the projects from our craft retreat earlier this fall.  We did some fun projects and these are the ones that were done for Autumn and Thanksgiving.  I have tons of decorations for Halloween and not so many for Thanksgiving, so I was glad to be able to make these that are for the Thanksgiving season.  I think that sometimes we just overlook Thanksgiving and our minds just go straight to Christmas.  I know I tend to do that, but I love that fact that we have a holiday to show our Thanks!  We all need to look around us at all the blessings that we have and stop and acknowledge them!  So, here are a couple of projects that will help you to remember to “Give Thanks!”

November 2013 Visiting Teaching Handout

This month for your visiting teaching message you will need to pick your favorite conference talk to discuss with your sisters, so I decided just to do a general card that you can hand out with any talk that you choose.  With it being November, I went with a “thankful” theme.  We all have many blessings that we need to be thankful for, one of them being the fact that we have a general conference twice a year with a living prophet to lead our church!  I love conference weekend and the wonderful spirit that I feel every time I listen to our leaders.

So with that being said, I hope that you can show your gratitude to your sisters for all of your blessings.

Monogram Wreath-Crafty Wood Cutouts

I was contacted by Crafty Wood Cutouts asking if I would be willing to do a project from their store and then blog about it, Um…yeah!

I went down to the retail store and it has some darling displays and ideas!  If you live in the Orem/Provo area, you really should check out this fun little store! If you don’t live nearby, check out their cute website!

I decided on a couple of different projects.  The first one is this classic monogram wreath:
