Rustic Picture Frame

Medical update: I am getting a little bit stronger every day.  I think the thing that fooled me the most was how weak I am and how little energy I have!  I guess that is from the blood loss. I feel like my arm is getting a little bit stronger every day and my incision is healing well.  The good news is that the numbness is slowly leaving…the bad news…I can now feel it!  I still have my super glue on the top of the incision, but the bruising is almost gone.  (My arm just looks a little bit dirty where the bruising is!)  I can now start lifting 10 pounds, but I cannot yet rotate my arm outwards all the way.  But all in all, I would say that I am doing super!

So, I still cannot do very many projects, but I would like to share one with you that I picked up at a little boutique during our town celebration:

Thursday’s Thought-Father’s Day

Today I decided that I would do a round-up of some of my past Father’s Day and Family sayings and gift ideas. This way you have a collection of them all in the same place!

Thursday’s Thought – I Have Learned…

It is Thursday once again, so it is time for my Thursday’s Thought!

I-have-learned

I loved this thought the first time I ever saw it and I think that it sums up how I feel!  If you have your loved ones around you, you pretty much have everything!

This is formatted to an 8 x 10 size for anyone that would like to print it.  It would also be a great gift to frame it!

I don’t know about you, but I cannot believe how quickly the month of May is disappearing!  With all the end of the school year activities, ballgames, and dance recitals etc, etc, etc, it seems like it is always such a busy month.  Before we know it school will be out and we will be in the full swing of summer!  I love summer and the warm weather and being outside for BBQ’s, s’mores, fireworks, parades and all of the flowers everywhere!  So I say, bring SUMMER on!

Hope you have a great Thursday and that you have learned that being with those you love is enough also!

Thanks for visiting!

Thursday’s Thought-Life is Like a Camera

I thought that this thought was so cute!  I love the analogy of picture taking with real life!  It is perfect for the photographer in your life, or just for a thought about how to deal with life!  It would be a fun Father’s Day print with the blues and orange colors!  It would also be a great gift for the new graduate in your life!Life-is-like-a-camera

There are some days that you just have to “take another shot”, but for the most part, I hope that we can learn from the negatives!

I hope that you are having a great Thursday!

Thanks for Visiting today!

Star Quilts

I am so happy to announce that it is Christmas in May!?

Star quilts title

I decided right after Christmas last year that I was going to make these two quilts for gifts for this year.  I went out and got the fabric last January and I have slowly been working on them during some of our weekend trips up to our cabin, and they are now finished and I can put them away until Christmas! Anniversary Scrapbook

My husband and I just celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary!?  How can that be…when I still consider myself to be a forty-something?  The numbers just don’t crunch!

But I am the luckiest girl alive because I am truly married to my BEST Friend!

I decided to make a little scrapbook because of a fun little idea that I saw on Pinterest, it uses all kinds of numbers and I knew that my husband would love it!Anniversary Book Continue reading

Thursday’s Thought-Home is Where your Mom Is

I am having a few technical difficulties with my blog, but I have someone working on them along with our new look, so please be patient with me! :)

Today I thought that I would do a Mother’s Day thought, since it is coming up here shortly.  My mother has been gone for 7 years now, but I am so grateful for all the many things that she taught me and the wonderful family life that I had growing up!  I have wonderful memories of my mom helping me and teaching me so many of her different talents…sewing, cooking, quilting, and helping others. I was a very lucky girl to have a mom like her!  So this thought is in her honor!

To print this, right click over the image and go to “save image as” then save in a folder, or you can right click over the image and go to “copy image” , open your favorite program like Word or Presentations and right click again and go to “paste”.  This has been formatted to an 8 x 10 size which would be perfect for framing and giving to your favorite Mom! :)

Have a great Thursday!

Thanks for Visiting!  Love Ya!

Strawberry Tablecloth

I have been tending grandkids for 9 straight days and I am totally worn out!  I guess that is why you have your children when you are young, so that you can kind of keep up with them!  :)  They have been really good kids, but I am exhausted.  We went to the park, had picnics, went to our cabin overnight, had our Easter party, went to another Easter party, learned how to do a rainbow loom…made lots of bracelets, went shopping, went to church and I carpooled kids from school!   Oh and we also watched after 3 birds!  I forgot how much time and ENERGY it takes to keep up with little kids!  So my praise goes out to all of you that are raising small children…keep up the great job!

Needless to say, I have not done many projects this last week, but I do have one very simple sewing project for you today:

15 Carrots!

I have some really exciting news to share with you before I get to my regular post!  This little old blog is getting a new face lift!  I am working with my web designer and I am really excited about the new changes that will be coming soon.  We are going to have a fresh new clean look and hopefully it will easier to move about my site!

So stay tuned…

Instead of doing my regular Thursday’s Thought today, I decided that it would be fun to do a paper crafting project!  And what girl wouldn’t love having 15 carats carrots for Easter?
