M & M Christmas Bar Cookies

Today I have the BEST, easiest recipe for a yummy, CUTE Christmas Cookie!

(Say that fast 3 times!)

This  recipe is perfect for this time of year when everyone is so busy and you don’t have a lot of time to bake, but yet we have to take a treat with us almost everywhere we go!  There are parties every week and church socials and school functions and dance festivals, so you need to try this recipe because it is so simple, yet everyone will think that you spent a lot of time making them!

Thursday’s Thought

I love you…

Love you more…

Have you ever said this with someone?  I know that you have,

I have sometimes carried it even one step farther and said

 I love you the mostest!

I always do like to have the last word! :)

This is a fun word game that we play with those that we love and I thought that it might be fun for our thought this week.  I have formatted this to be  8 x 10, so if you want to frame it, you could make a fun little gift for someone!

Here is a fun red version just in time for the holidays.

(This would also be perfect for Valentines day, if you want to think that far ahead!)

To print this right click over image and go to “save image as”  then save in one of your pictures file.

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Hope You Have a Great Day!  Love Ya!

What a Week!

This has been a busy week here at the ranch.  Even though we are empty nesters it does not mean that we slow down very much!

My husband and I took a quick little trip to St. George, (Southern Utah)  the first few days of the week.  We went to two of the Tuacahn Theater Shows,   “Aladdin” and “Hairspray”.  They were both so good and the weather was pretty good although the first night we were there the wind came up and it got downright cold!  We figured if we were going to see these shows that we had better go now, because they are going to end this week!  We really enjoy going to the different shows every year!  Thriller starts next week and I would love to see that one too, but I doubt that we will make it back down there to see that one!  Maybe next year!

Wire frame and Haunted House

Here are a couple of the projects from our retreat… a fun wired frame with covered clothes pins and a darling Haunted House with a bat to boot!  I paired them up together to put in my front entry hall and they look just BOOtiful!

So does anyone want to make a fun wired frame? Continue reading

Happy “Unofficial” Mother’s Day!

Today is the first day of school here in our area and even though all of my kids are grown and out of the house, it is still a holiday!  It was a tradition for me to call my sister on the first day of school every year and wish her a Happy Mother’s Day, because we had decided year’s ago that the first day back to school should be the “unofficial” Mother’s Day!  You know that I am just kidding…kind of!

To help get all the grand kids off on a good start I made them all  back-to-school boxes!  Even though some of them are not in school yet, I couldn’t leave anyone out! Continue reading

Blackberry Jam

My dad planted some blackberry bushes last summer to see how well they would do in his garden.  Well apparently, they love the spot that he planted them because the bushes are loaded with berries this summer!  They are big beautiful berries and so my sister and I and dad went and picked some for him and we made blackberry jam.  Then the next week my sister went and picked for herself and made blackberry jam.  Yesterday, I went to pick for me and I made more blackberry jam and the bushes are still loaded with more berries!  I don’t know about you, but I had never really had access to blackberries and thought that they were just a tart berry with a core in the middle, little did I know that they make the best tasting jams and jellies.  I think I prefer it over raspberry jam and I love raspberry jam! Painted Mason Jars

When I did the visiting teaching handout for this month I pictured it with a painted mason jar.  These are so easy to make and all you need is a bottle and some spray paint and of course some cute ribbon!  These are perfect for a vase for flowers from your garden or a bunch from the grocery store. I just went outside in my yard and picked these Shasta Daisies, I had the jars, ribbon and paint so this project cost me nothing out of pocket to make.  Bonus! Continue reading

Nutella No Bake Cookies

I remember when I was a young girl, coming home from school and making No Bake Cookies.  I always thought that they were the best treat ever!  I used to mix in all kinds of things like coconut, nuts, raisins, etc. whatever my mom had in the cupboard at the time.  But not once, ever, did I think to put in Nutella!  Well, I saw this idea out there somewhere in blog land and had to give it a try.  I was pleasantly pleased with this add-in item!  The hazelnut flavor is kind of subtle, but it is there.  My husband thinks that these are good for you with the oatmeal and all and I just let him think that!

Marathon Gift Basket

One of my cute little DIL’s ran the Utah Valley Marathon this last weekend!  I was so proud of her for accomplishing her goal.  A marathon is something that I have always wanted to do, but know that I cannot, so I will admire all of those that do.  She had some injury difficulties and was still able to push through them to complete her race, so that made it even more of an accomplishment!  You can read her inspiring story here.
