Easy to Sew Zippered Pouches!

Yesterday we had another one of our sewing classes for Relief Society in my church.  I taught them how to put in a zipper and we made these fun zippered pouches!

These are so fun to make and they are a great project to learn how to put a zipper in!   This is a beginning sewing class so all of the projects are simple to make.  There are a lot of pictures in this tutorial, but do not let that discourage you.  These are literally a 15-20 minute project once you have made one and know how to do them! Easy Maxi Skirt

We are starting a beginning sewing class in our Relief Society.  That is the women’s organization in our church and I am in charge of teaching it.  I am so excited because we have some really fun projects that are for beginners, but they are so cute that I think those that already sew will want to join us too! :)

In our first class we are going to make these darling Maxi Skirts!DSC_0273-2

(Don’t you love my new dress form?  I just got it and I am so excited that I can dress it for my pictures now!)

Quilt As You Go Table Runner

I have been wanting a table runner for my table, but I wanted a square one, not a rectangle one.  I had several different pieces of fabric that were red and white, so naturally I decided that I needed to make my table runner.   I made it with all my scraps and this whole thing did not cost me any extra money, because I had everything that I needed!  Score!

I love how it looks on my kitchen table!

Valentines Pillow Wrap

I have another pillow wrap for you today.

I love these wraps because they are such an easy way to decorate and a pillow can add so much to a room.  This is my Valentines version.  I love the colors with the touch of green added in the ruffle.  It goes perfect with my black pillow, so I did not need to make a new pillow,  just the wrap!

Ruffled Christmas Dishtowel and Knitted Dishcloths

It seems like I have had a lot of sewing projects lately and I promise that there are only a couple of more to come!

I just get the sewing bug when it comes to Christmas!  I like to make some of my Christmas gifts and of course I love sewing some fun quilts and pillows!

Today I have my Christmas version of the ruffled dishtowels!

Super Easy Darling Nativity Costumes!

I don’t know if anyone out there was following my blog way back last Christmas, but I made a comment that I wanted to make Nativity costumes for my all of my grand kids.  I looked online and I checked costume stores and there were some cute, expensive ones, but they all came in separate sizes and I wanted something that would be one size fits all from age 2 to 10!  I know that I was kind of nuts to think that I would find something, but guess what I did!

Christmas…Sew Cute!

Today I decided that I would show you some of my Christmas sewing projects from this year and from Christmases past.  I absolutely love the warmth of these homemade quilts and pillows.  They are so inviting on a cold winter’s night.  This collection is from things that I have made and some that are gifts that were made by wonderful friends!  It is good to have crafty friends!

I have a WIP (work in progress) quilt to show you today.  I wanted to show it to you now in case anyone else wants to make one of these for the holidays!

It was a fun quilt to make and I was able to complete the top in two weekends!  So it actually goes together quite fast!

Fall Pillow Wrap

Don’t  forget to vote today?

That is my little public service announcement!  :)

Now on to the post for today:

I have all of my Halloween put away and I have been a little slow on getting my fall/Thanksgiving decorations out.  I just am having a hard time getting into it.  I think that if I put it off, it will not come as fast!   It is not Thanksgiving that I really worry about it is Christmas that seems to come waaay too fast!  So let’s just be in denial and see where that gets me!  :)

I did get one thing done and put out:

Here is my fall pillow wrap.

I made a linen pillow cover for this one that can be used with other wraps throughout the year.  Now I have my black one from Halloween and a linen one.  I should be able to use these two pillows with most any wraps!

I love the fall leaves in this fabric with the orange polka dot ruffles.  Polka Dots and ruffles just go together, do they not?  And the brown ric rac  finishes it off so perfectly!
