I have been looking for an old chair without a seat in it for a couple of months now. It is one of the reasons that I started going to garage sales! And a few weeks ago I was able to find this chair at a garage sale in Wanship, UT! It was at this really cool antique place, but I did not take a picture of it. I know shame on me, but if you are ever in Wanship, it is right on the main road across from the old Spring Chicken Inn. Anyway I could have looked around for hours, but my husband was waiting, so I just grabbed this chair and he shook his head as I loaded it up! :) It is perfect for what I wanted!I just power washed it off, spray painted it this teal color, ( Rust-o-leum, Ultra Cover, in the Lagoon color) and distressed the edges a bit and tah dah, I have a new planter! I absolutely love it. It is right on my front porch welcoming anyone who comes! What do you think? Do you now need to find an old chair? :) This was a really easy project and yet it is one of my favorites!
What fun ideas had you done for flower planters? I would love to hear about them.
The shape of this chair is adorable–just hugging the flowers. I love this idea for the front porch and do think I will keep an eye out for a neglected chair! I don’t have any cute planters right now but I went on a garden tour where they used wonderful pieces (old metal toys, baby shoes, iron beds). It was a really fun garden!
This looks really awesome! Love the color and the distressing! I have a couple of chairs that I have been thinking about usung in the garden that might need to be this color too…
It is a great color! I have used it for several things. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really do appreciate it.
You had me at turquoise. Love it!
I love your planter! That chair is perfect for it. I’ve been wanting to do something similar, but never got around to it. I’ll have to move it to the top of my to do list!
I know that I was lucky to find my chair and I have loved it all summer long. The flowers are doing even better now that the weather is cooling down just a bit, so I guess that I will be able to enjoy it a little while longer! :)
