Have any of you made these fun “Lollies”? I saw them over at Heartland Paper and decided I wanted to try them out. I think that they are called “lollies”, because you can also put them on a stick and then they look like a lollipop!
So I went to the Heartland Paper Store in Woods Cross, UT a couple of weekends ago and got some wonderful double-sided card stock paper and look at how festive they turned out!
You can learn how to make these here. They have a full tutorial, but they are just strips of paper folded like a fan, glue them together end to end, then form a circle and add the centers. To make the garland that they are hanging from I cut strips of red, white and blue fabric 1 1/2 ” x 7 “. I just used my scraps, so the garland did not cost me anything! Bonus! I tied the strips on to a piece of jute. You can make this garland as long or short as you want. Then I used floral wire to hang the “lollies” because even though I used double-sided paper, I wanted the decorated side to stay to the front. You can make these 3-D paper stars for the center of the big “lollie” or just punch a couple of circles for the centers. You can Google vintage 4th of July and get a whole ton of images for the centers, or you can just use these.I tied each end to a dowel and wired it to my flower cart. This will be our treat table for the 4th of July! (I will take pictures of our party and post them later!)Isn’t this a cute fun way to decorate. I am thinking that any holiday would be fun to make these for or perhaps a shower or other party that you would decorate for! You could use any color theme and go wild with these!
I love how you put this in your flower cart! What a great idea!
Thank you, I am excited to load the cart up with goodies for the 4th of July!
It looks fabulous !! Come link it up with us at our party: http://www.finecraftguild.com/party/ . This display of happy colors is something to show off!!
What a fabulous project!
That is adorable! I love how you displayed it on the cart. I’m really loving banners right now and I’m pinning this one!
Thanks for taking the time to comment and for your kind words! I appreciate the support!
Thanks for posting this project. I have my Daughter in Brazil on her mission. I thought the red/white/blue garland might be a fun decoration to send in her monthly package. I purchased a red flag shirt to match it. I appreciate you for taking the time to share.
Ooh! What a fun package idea, who wouldn’t love to receive that in the mail? What a lucky daughter you have that gets a MONTHLY package! I am so glad that you could use one of my ideas. Thanks for your comment, I love to hear from my readers!
Here on the East Coast, we call these folded circles medallions/rosettes. I love them, they’re festive hanging from the ceiling, setting on a credenza leaning against the wall, hanging from trees, hanging on the porch………just anywhere.
Svgcuts.com has an svg file that allows you to have a medallion in different colors, hard to explain.

If you’ve had the paper circle pop back up while trying to flatten it, LOL Go here to make your own lollie, medallion tool. It’s a great idea and works every time.
Love your blog!!!
ooops!!!! I forgot to include the address of the blog that has instructions on how to make the lollie/medallion making tool.
