Last weekend I went to the Pinners Conference with my best friend from Jr. High! Can you believe that we have been friends for that long? We have kept in touch all these years and it is so fun to have a friend that everyone thinks is my sister! (She is the one on the left) We met these other two while waiting in line to get in the first morning and we ran into each other several times during the two days. I should have handed off my phone to someone to take a picture of us together! We just kept taking pictures of each other and I do not have any of us together, even though we spent the whole weekend together. :(
We were kind of crazy and went to classes all day long! We probably over scheduled ourselves, but we had a great time together. The class that we both liked the very best was the “Food Nanny”.
She gave us so much information that I have never heard before, plus some helpful tips and a delicious tasting table at the end! She also had her brand new cook book, “The Food nanny rescues dinner again!” and we got a signed copy. (I made the creamy tomato basil soup and the French Baguette bread last night and it was WONDERFUL!)
My daughter-in-law and granddaughter joined us for this class. My daughter-in-law is the one that told me about the food nanny, she has followed stalked her for quite a while! It was so fun to have them in the class with us!
Another fun class that we went to was the Junque Book.
This is just the bag that the book goes into! Isn’t it beautiful?
This class was taught by Kristine McKay from My Craft Channel.
She was so nice and we talked to her several times throughout the conference. If you have never seen My craft channel, you need to check it out. Just a work of warning, though, it can be kind of addicting! I have it set up so that it sends me an email every morning and it is one of the first things that I check every morning!
The next class that we loved was Heidi Swapp’s File folder Memory Book.
She is a great teacher, motivator and is so creative!
This is the cover of this fun file folder! It is with her new Christmas line, “Believe”. I have been waiting to see this fun line and I love, love, love it! It has all the classic Christmas colors plus black! I was hoping to get her Believe book that she just released, but I was too slow to get it on the Craft Channel, and now it is going to be hard to find anywhere! But I did get to make this file folder album, so I am very happy about that!
Here is Heidi and I in her booth after the class.
She is just so creative that I think if I get close enough maybe some of her creativity will rub off on me! :) I can always hope!
My friend and I attended a lot of other classes like make-up by Maskcara (which was another great class!) and how to use power tools to build furniture! We also did a lot of shopping! There were some really fun vendors there!
I think that this was the first year that they have had this pinners conference here. It was a fun weekend and I hope that they will have it again next year! I am so glad that my friend invited me to go, we had a great time and we got to make some fun memories!
Do any of you have a great friend that you need to connect with or perhaps re-connect with!
My advice to you today is to just DO IT!
Looks like a blast, Rita!! Glad you were able to have such a great time!
