A couple of days ago, two of my granddaughters and I did the Payson Canyon-Grotto Hike!
It was really fun!The weather was beautiful. It was not too hot and was perfect for a day out in nature.
This hike is an easy hike that is great for families. A wide trail that follows a creek is my kind of hike! There is a delightful waterfall at the end of this short hike of half a mile. So therefore, it is great even with little ones because of the ease of this little jaunt.
If any of you live in this area, and you are in need of an activity this summer with the kids…this is a fun idea! The scenery is gorgeous and the trail is shaded quite a bit by all the trees on both sides. Then when you get to the top of the trail, there is a delightful waterfall to cool everybody off!Loved doing this hike with these two darling girls. I am trying to get outside more and enjoy the beautiful world around me!
As you can see, from this picture…we had some great water bottle holders. They were super easy to make. I found the idea from: It’s Always Autumn. Check it out if you are in need of an easy DIY water bottle holder!
So that is our Payson Canyon-Grotto Hike! If you are looking for something to do with the kiddos this summer, I would highly suggest this fun hike!
Wow! What great memories you’re making!
Marcia, It is fun to make memories…especially when you can do it outside and soak in some of that glorious sunshine!! :) Hope you have a great day!
i had know idea about that. We’re new to the area and we go to Payson about once a week. Thanks for the heads up.
Julie, It is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors and get a little bit of exercise at the same time! Hope you get to go sometime!
Been there with family, it is beautiful and so fun for the kids. Not a bad hike.
LaRue, Thanks for taking the time to write your comment. It is a great place to go with the family and perfect for a grandma like me, because it is an easy hike!! :)
Hi Rita,
How I love your blog and I especially enjoyed reading about your hike to the Payson Canyon Grotto, I’m planning a family reunion for our tribe this next month and we were looking for a place for a hike. We will have 70 people, do you have any idea of what the parking lot size would accommodate for the hike? I’m sorry I’m in Texas planning this from a distance. Thanks for all you do to share so much joy in your journey! I look forward to your posts.
Robyn, There is not a lot of parking. You will want to carpool as much as possible. When we went the parking was pretty full, so you will have to plan for that.
Sorry, I don’t know if there is any other parking available in the area or not. Hope you get to enjoy the great outdoors in Utah! :)
I didn’t know about this either. Thank you for sharing.
Sandra, I did not know about it until this summer. It must be a well kept secret! But it is a fun hike if you ever get the chance to go!
