Okay, last week was one of those weeks! It was very busy…not necessarily stressful…just busy. I know that all of you have those weeks sometimes and by the end of the week you are just exausted, right?
My week started out on Monday by bottling and freezing peaches and tending kids. It was so good to get my canning done. We picked the peaches the Sat. before and I got 5 boxes of peaches off my little tree this year! Then on Tuesday, I cleaned out all of my pantry…so that I could put my new bottled fruit on one of the shelves. Wed. I went with my dad for his cataract surgery and Wed night I had to give a short talk at a Relief Society activity for my church. I thought that I was going to bottle my dad’s peaches for him on Thursday…but my dear sweet sister sent me a text and told me that she and dad had gotten them all done on Wed. night! I am so lucky to have such a great sister! :) So on Thursday I went to see how my dad was doing and we took a little trip down to the food bank (after cleaning out my pantry on Tues!) On Friday my husband and I usually like to go to our property in the mountains and then to our cabin, but my husband was inducted into the Lehi High School Hall of Fame, during the halftime of the homecoming football game that night! He was given this award for all of his service and time he has spent with the sports programs in Lehi throughout a great many years. It was quite an honor and we are proud of him!
So needless to say…it was just one of those weeks. My husband decided that we should still go up to our property and to the cabin just for the day on Saturday and it was just what we both needed! We took a ride out on the ranger and this is what mother nature painted for us on the way up and at our property:
This is right at the top of Parley’s Canyon on the summit! (by Park City) I loved the colors with the dark green pines standing so tall. These are some of the red rocks on our property and they are kind of a landmark for me to see where I am at. The colors are just starting to turn here, but they are so vibrant against the green trees. Here are some more of the red cliffs on the property. They are just so beautiful and mother nature has painted such a beautiful forefront for these beautiful rocks! This is up on the top of the mountain…looking across the gully. Whenever I am up here I literally feel like I am on top of the world! It is a great feeling!I just love autumn time in the mountains…the colors are just breathtaking! And the colors are really just getting started…I am sure there is another beautiful show still to come! This is one of my favorite views on the whole property. You come around a corner and you are still on top of the mountain…but you get this beautiful view of the valley below…and with the colorful forefront…it is just breathtaking!
It is amazing what a beautiful Autumn day can do for your spirits! I think that I am now ready to face another busy week!
Do you have a favorite place that you like to get away to…whether it be a park, the canyon, a hiking trail or the city…what makes you rejuvenated and ready to start your new week? Whatever it is, I hope that you will have the opportunity to visit that place soon and that it will give you the boost to keep going! :)
Beautiful Beautiful, thanks for sharing.
You said it well, “breathtaking”. Autumn is my favorite season, the colors are so beautiful…Utah is just a wonderful place to live.
