Our house is almost 19 years old now and it is time to start doing a few make-overs. I have put it off for as long as I can, but now I have got to get busy and start doing a few renovations. I love the fresh new look of this make-over…and this is one of the easiest make-overs that you can do!I simply painted my back door this beautiful blue color and added a bright yellow vinyl “Hello.” This simple coat of paint took my back door from awful..to..AMAZING! The color of this paint is called “Timberlake Teal” from Glidden paints. I painted a primer coat of paint first because of how hammered this door was and I simply used a paint brush to brush the paint on the door. I only taped the garage wall and everything else I was able to just free hand.Look at the difference! My back door was so hammered and scratched and chipped from the comings and goings of the last 19 years and I cannot believe the difference from the before and the after! All with a simple coat of paint! Why didn’t I do this years ago? Here is a close up of the vinyl lettering. I simply designed this on my Silhouette Machine and cut it out. So simple! I love that my family is now greeted with this fun sentiment every time they come to my house. We all use this back door in the garage when we come and go, so it will be seen every time we arrive home!I touched up the paint on the inside of the door with the original paint. (I have about a pint of paint left, so when it is gone I will be in trouble!) I touched up the corners on the walls in this back entrance and I painted this bench the same color as the outside of the door. A simple make-over that made a big statement! This was my bench before I repainted it. It never looks like this…because I always have 3 or 4 pairs of shoes under it or on the lower shelf! So this is a glorified picture…not a real picture!
So that is my back door make-over…mmm…I wonder what else I can make-over with a simple coat of paint!? Have you done a make-over on anything in your house? I like these easy, simple projects, the big ones I will leave to the professionals!
I love the color that you chose….what a nice difference, and the vinyl lettering is so inviting….good job…I should be doing some refurbishing….you inspire me….you have great, fun, summer.
Your door looks great. It’s amazing what paint and a nice sentiment can do.
Teal seems to be the popular color. You make everything sound so easy, but you’re not fooling me. Great job.
