Silhouette Cards!

I have been going a little bit crazy with my Silhouette machine again.  I downloaded another class and this one is on cards!  They are so fun to make and who does not love receiving a homemade card?

Look at all of these fun cards and this is only half of the ones that are included in the class!  This is another Kerri Bradford class and this one is titled Hello There.  She gives very detailed instructions on how to make each card.

I seriously have to tell myself that I have to get my work done before I can play with this! :)

This card was fun to design, because we created several different flower shapes and you can pick any of them for the front of your card!  So I have 3 different flowers saved right now, but the best part is that I know how to design more!  With each of the cards I also learned how to make an envelope to go with it!  So fun!  This one is called a petal envelope.

This center open card was created by cutting a doily shape in half and mirroring it!  I love the delicate cuts here.  The envelope for this one is just a good basic envelope that I cut on double sided paper, so the inside of the envelope has another fun feature!

Okay, this card is probably one of my favorites because I can think of so many ways that I could use this darling little thing!  I learned how to make the paper bag with the pinked top edge.  I printed the colors that I wanted and I made the card/tag that goes inside.  I can custom make any colors or saying that I want!  How cool is that?

Here is another very cool card.  Kerri calls it a “cardalope” because the card and envelope are all one!  It has the pull tab that reveals the sentiment inside.  This is a fun card that I think the kids would enjoy.  You are limited to what you can say inside because of space, but I guess that you could always write your sentiments on the back.

This card is my favorite one of the cards that I have made so far!  It is a gift card holder!  You can see here that you can use a variety of papers to create different cards for girls, boys, adults or children!  I also made a bunch of different tags that hang from the jute using different colors and different sentiments!  I love how I can tie it up with ribbon, bakers twine or jute!  Add a little clip to the end and it is so CUTE!

This is what the card looks like when it is opened up.  There are slots that are cut out to insert the gift card.  The slot in the corner is to hold the front closed!  LOVE THIS!

So this is what I have been doing lately, when I should have been cleaning the house, tending kids, doing my work etc  :)

Do you have something that you love to do so much that you have to tell yourself that you have to get your work done before you can play?  Or am I the only one who gets obsessed sometimes?

Hope that you have a great day today.  Go out and do something that you love!

Thanks for visiting today!  Love Ya!

  1. Cute cards, you have inspired me to start using my Silhouette Cameo for something other than cutting vinyl. My most recent obsession is doing zentangle, which is basically doodling. I too have to tell myself that I must get my work done first…sometimes I listen to myself and sometimes I don’t.

    1. I know, I think that one is so darling! I am truly loving that I am learning all these different techniques to use on my Silhouette machine!

    1. I think that the cardalope is only available in Kerri Bradford’s card class. She teaches how to make it and then you can personalize it any way that you want.
