Today is Utah’s State holiday!
We celebrate the arrival of the Mormon Pioneer into the Salt Lake Valley. After trekking across the frontier for many months, they arrived in the Salt Lake Valley and Brigham Young announced, “This is the Place”.
(This is the Place Monument)
The pioneer had finally found their home and began immediately to build this beautiful state!
This picture depicts typical pioneer dress (except for my granddaughter in the picture!)
These pictures were all taken last summer when I visited “This is the Place Park” with my daughter and her kids. There are all kinds of pioneer activities to do, places to visit and food to eat, at this fun park!
So Happy 24th of July to all of you that live in Utah!
And to those of you that do not live in Utah, I hope that you can celebrate your own heritage today and that you will find reason to be happy!
Thanks for visiting today!
