This weekend we went up to our cabin and on the way up my husband asked if I wanted to stop at a couple of my favorite shops in Midway. Of course I said yes!The first place that we stopped was this little place called: Seasons of Home. It is just a fun little gift/quilt shop and I found a darling quilt kit for a little boy with cars and trucks on it! It is a simple pattern and I am excited to get started on itThe next place is called: All That Stuff in the Barn. It is just a really fun gift shop and had tons of ideas for me! I got a couple of Bubble Guns for the grand kids, but I really saw some fun decorating ideas in here!
We then went on up to our cabin and spent the afternoon mowing and working in the yard there. We always have fun watching for deer and other creatures! It is so peaceful and quiet and we both just love to go there! Well, on Saturday morning my sweetheart of a husband took me to several garage sales that were in the area. I have not been to very many garage sales, but decided that perhaps it would be fun. I told my husband that “It’s all about the hunt!” and if any of you know my husband at all, he replied that he has been trying to tell me this ever since we got married! You see, my husband is an Avid Big game hunter!
Here are my “trophies” that I came home with:I got this ornate picture frame for $1 and I know exactly what I want to do with it, but you’ll have to wait and see the before and after pics in a later post! This muffin tin was .50! I really almost felt guilty for taking it, it is a really nice heavy pan! I think that these will make the cutest cornbread muffins this fall. I might have to try it out now to see how cute they are! Then I found these beaded purse handles for $1 a piece. I am not sure if I will use them for purses or just take them apart for the cute beads!
My husband thought that I had lost my marbles when two guys came carrying this thing out to our vehicle. I know that it is UGLY, but I have so many visions in my head of making this play kitchen a dream for my little granddaughters and for $20 how can you go too wrong. Some new paint and knobs and dishes and she will be a beauty!
Like I said, “It’s all about the hunt!”
So how many of you out there are Garage Sale “hunters”? Do you have any tips for me as a beginner? I would love to hear about them!
