Oct 2022 Ministering Handouts
Happy October everyone! This is one of my favorite times of the year! The fall leaves are turning, apples are crisp and yummy, the weather is getting cooler and of course it is time for General Conference!
This month for the ministering thought, I watched the short video from President M. Russell Ballard titled “Loveth Thou Me More Than These?”
You can also read this talk from last October Conference here.
Here is the message handout:For those of you that would like a jpeg image, simply right click over the image. Go to “save image as”, then save in a folder of your choice. You can print from there or send it out to your favorite photo processing center.
Please remember as always…my printables are for personal use only. They are not for resale.
This blank version is perfect for those of you that would like to translate. Or if you are in need of a fun card, note, handout or tag, simply add the text of your choice.Included is this fun tag! You can use it however you wish. There are two to a 4 x 6 card.
You could tie up a bag of Halloween candy with this fun tag. Or you could add anything to your handout that you think your sisters would love!
I actually do multiple handouts every month, for my daughter and DIL’s, my two aging mother-in-laws and for the sisters I visit. Sometimes I will make up extras just to give to friends or for a thank you! This is what I made for my girls this month: A Halloween dishtowel!
Another idea, for instance is. my partner got some Halloween pretzels to give to our sisters. However, you can do anything that is good for you. Simply give or mail the card, or text it to your sisters…you do you!
Those of you that would like the PDF download, simply click on the link(s) below:
Please remember that it is not the handout that is important…it is your sisters! Make sure they know how much you love and care about them!!!
So that is my Oct. 2022 Ministering Handout.
Happy Ministering and Happy Conference watching!
There is another version of a fishing story from the Savior’s ministry that I love. I have shared it with many missionaries, because in this story from Luke 5, it says they will be “Fishers of Men.”
One of the things that impresses me about this story is, first, the fact that when the Savior tells Peter to “Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught”. He tells the Savior that they were tired and and they had fished all night and caught nothing!
“NEVERTHELESS”...”at thy word I will let down the net.” Peter immediately obeyed!
The second thing is the fact that after they had caught so many fishes: “their net brake.” Peter was all of the sudden a very wealthy man and I am sure that he was also pretty famous with a catch like that! But…when they had brought their ships to land, they
forsook all, and followed him. In fact in Matt 4:20 it says “And they
STRAIGHTWAY left their nets, and followed him.
Peter and the other disciples were willing to show how they,
Loveth Thou Me More Than These!
How can we do the same?
Both are beautiful. The 2nd one might be easier to read for my older sisters, but I’m not clever enough to know how to do that. Your messages are always wonderful. Our ward split and when I showed up the next month with the message and treat for a sister no longer in our ward, she cried. She now in a different ward and stake, “I thought you’d forget about me. The cards frame her mirror, “love to read them and thought I wouldn’t get any more. My list has grown quite large and I love the visits. Thank you for getting me out at the beginning of each month.
Jan, Thank you for writing such a sweet message. I loved that you continue to minister to your sister that is no longer in your ward. You truly have the spirit of ministering! May you always have the Lord’s blessings for your good works.Hope you have a wonderful conference weekend. Happy Ministering!
At the end of September, President Ballard spoke at our Logan Temple Workers Devotional. He shared this thought with us. I have been pondering it, and talked about it with other temple workers. I am so happy you chose this for October!
Thank you.
Isabel, Thank you for taking the time to write your comment. This has been on my mind too, and I am trying to think of how I can love the Lord more and what it means to love Him more than these! President Ballard gave a great talk and he gave us all something to think about and ponder. I hope you have a great day. Happy Ministering!
