I have a fun project to show you today…it is this Courtship Quilt-WIP!My husband and I spent a week in St. George and I had a sewing machine with me!
It was an amazing week, with General Conference and all of the changes that came along with that! And with Easter being on the same Sunday was just a wonderful treat!
I am not entirely sure what I will be doing with the visiting teaching handouts…now that there is no more visiting teaching!
But there are many that have said how helpful they are, especially to those that send them in the mail.
Therefore, I may continue with a “ministering” idea, but I am still waiting to see exactly what “ministering” entails. As I am sure a lot of you are also!
Now back to my Courtship Quilt-WIP:This entire quilt is made of half square triangles! So I spent a good amount of time, simply sewing the squares and trimming each one of them. There are hundreds of these blocks! But when they are all trimmed, they look perfect! Now it was simply a matter of arranging them into different blocks to make up each of the patterns!
The Courtship Quilt pattern is from Missouri Star Quilt Co.
There is also an excellent online tutorial, showing how to make this quilt. Along with a fun variation in the fabric choice. My favorite blocks are the star blocks. There are four that make up the center of the quilt.
I am getting close to completing this Courtship Quilt. I just have a few more borders to sew around the outside before quilting. My neighbor, who is an excellent quilter, is going to help me with some ideas. The size needs to be a little bit wider so that I can use it for a king size bedspread! So that is my Courtship Quilt-WIP!
I am excited to get it completed…but I still need to refinish my headboard before I can put my bedroom back together!!!
Are any of you working on sewing projects…or have you all put them away till fall? I tend to do that, but still have a couple of projects that I need to complete before then!
We were told to just carry on with the sisters we VT. I send out a lot of letters, as we have over 850 members in our ward. At least 250 single sisters. So I appreciate the nice handouts that I can send. I have them printed at Walgreens so they look so professional. Thank you for all your work in doing the printouts.
Kris, Wow! Keep up the great work! Happy Ministering!
Thanks for your news and great quilt! I love your VT handouts please continue with our new ministering of our sisters!!!
