Half Square Triangle Quilts
I have not posted any projects for a looong time, so decided that I would do a bit of a round-up over the next few weeks of some of the projects that I have been working on!
As some of you know over the past two years, we have had several major health issues in our family. So therefore, I kind of put all of my projects on hold. But now, I have done several projects, just have not posted anything lately! So here goes:
This is the first half square triangle quilt that I made. I had a stack of 1/2 yard fabrics in a quilt kit that I bought several years ago. I love the bright colors and wanted to make a quilt for a friend that moved out of state. The chevron pattern is a fun, easy one to do. I used this tutorial from: Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom. She shows a really easy way to make your half square triangles. Check out her post!Since this was for my friend, I needed to make a quilt label. The chevron pattern was perfect for this quilt label. Don’t you love that quote?
It is quilted with a simple all-over stipple pattern. Hopefully my friend will enjoy curling up with this fun lap quilt on a lazy afternoon with a good book! For the next quilt, I used the exact same pattern as the chevron quilt. You simply turn your blocks around to make an all new pattern!!! Tricky huh?Following are a few samples that I played with on my design board, before finally deciding on the all pinwheel pattern. It is kind of fun to play with the different ways that you could sew this quilt together. Here is the last sample that I tried. They all are pretty cute, but I do love the all pinwheel and the chevron the best! The pinwheel quilt looks pretty cute on a ladder in my dining room. I have not made a label yet. I need to decide if I am keeping this one or if it is going to be a gift!
So these are my half square triangle quilts. What designs would you choose?
Thanks for sharing your incredible projects. Always fun to see what you have been working on. You are so talented! Beautiful fun quilts, anyone would love to have these. Treasured projects that is for sure. Sorry to hear about your families health issues, hopefully things are improving. Thanks again for all your posts and your monthly messages, sure enjoy them. Take care…..

Julie: the quilts are absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. I just love your site and every time I visit I am filled with such joy!
Stay safe, well and so very happy!
I love your ideas, and we have something in common – 10 grand children! As each of them were born, a baby quilt was made. Then at 2, a twin quilt was made for each of them. Trip Around the World by Eleanor Burns is my go to pattern when I have to get it done quickly. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Ruth, Thank you for taking the time to write your kind comment. I loved hearing about all of the quilts you make for your grandchildren. That is so fun! But I am afraid I am ahead of you…I have 16 grandchildren! And I love each and every one of them!! Happy Quilting!
Fabulous!!
So excited to see your post! Thank you for the inspiration!
