This last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Missouri Star Quilt Road Show!
It was a lot of fun and I learned a ton from Jenny Doan! This is obviously a cardboard cutout, but that is as close as we got to Jenny! They had a meet and greet after the show, but the line was a mile long!
I was lucky enough to have my friend, Andi, go with me. She is a wonderful quilter and we had a great time and lots of laughs. Thanks Andi!
I loved that this Missouri Star Quilt Road Show was educational as well as entertaining!Jenny would put up a sample of a basic block and then she would show how you could change it up by simply turning the blocks or making a cut and rotating it! Then they would show a quilt made with that block! Her husband was her helper and he was as funny as she is!
(Sorry about the quality of these pictures, it was in a darkened auditorium)
But I hope that you will at least be able to see the beautiful quilt patterns! It was amazing to me that you could make so many different quilts, with just a few simple blocks!
I can’t wait to try some of them out.
At the end of the road show, Jenny talked about how quilts are part of our legacy and they will outlast those that make them! It is important to document your quilts and it does not need to be fancy. I am trying to add labels to all the quilts that I have done in the last couple of years!
So grateful that I had the opportunity to attend this Road Show.
Jenny Doan does a tutorial on YouTube every week, so you can actually watch how she makes each of the quilts she does.
Well, I’m off to quilt my Courtship quilt, that is one of Jenny’s pattern!
I was there Saturday morning and it was awesome! Learned so many new things and got some great motivation, which I also get from you. Thanks!
Julie, Wasn’t it sooo much fun. I was totally blown away with all of her ideas. I am super pumped to try out a few of her ideas! Hope you are too!
Wow! What more can be said? Such creativity, once again!
Marcia, Right! Jenny was so creative and I can hardly wait to try some of her ideas out! :)
