After my husband and I got home from our vacation a week or so ago, I was craving some good old fashioned comfort food. We had eaten out for every meal for 9 days straight and we were both tired of restaurant and fast food. I thought that good old fashioned, homemade mac and cheese sounded good! I really did not make this when my kids were growing up and I cannot figure out why, because most kids love mac and cheese and the homemade kind is so much better than the boxed kind!
The weather is starting to cool down and the kids are back to school…so it seems like the perfect time to make this wonderful comfort food! It is really easy to make and every time I make this all the kids (both young and old!) come back for seconds or even thirds!
This recipe is from Pioneer Woman, I love her recipes because most them use good basic ingredients that I usually have in my pantry and fridge and this one is no exception. I like the addition of dry mustard and seasoned salt in this recipe, it gives it just the right flavor. You can also spice it up and add some Cheyenne pepper to it!
