On one of my recent visits to World Market I purchased a box of this Tortellini Pasta. It is sooo good, it says on the box that it is Premium Quality and you can tell, because it almost taste like handmade pasta!
I made this recipe which is actually the one on the back of the box, except of course, I had to change it up a bit! :) You could use any dry Tortellini, but if you ever get a chance to try this one, it is worth the money!
Tortellini with Ham and Cream Sauce
Ingredients:
1 cup dry Tortellini Pasta with cheese filling
2 Tablespoons butter
1 cup cubed ham
1 cup cream (I used half and half)
a pinch of salt and pepper to taste
1 cup frozen peas
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Cook pasta in boiling water according to directions on package. During the last 3-4 minutes of cooking time add the peas, stirring occasionally. When pasta and peas are cooked, drain well. Make the sauce by melting the butter in a small saucepan. Add the ham and simmer for a few minutes. Add the cream (or Half and Half) and the salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens. Pour over cooked tortellini and garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Serves four.
