This last weekend, my husband and I went up to our cabin, but we took a detour on the way up and went to Trader Joe’s. I know that a lot of you are familiar with Trader Joe’s, but it is new to Utah and can I just say…
I am in LOVE!
We stopped on the way up to our cabin and then we went back on our way home from the cabin! That is how impressed I was.
It is not a big store, but it is packed with so many fun, new foods, that I have never even heard of. I was like a little kid in a candy store trying to decide what I wanted to try first.
When you first walk in the door, there is a whole wall full of flowers! It was so beautiful and I could not believe the prices. Seriously? I grabbed this bunch on my second trip on the way home:
For $5.99 it included orchids and lilies! I can’t wait to show you what I did with them!
They have a small produce section, but the produce looked heavenly. I loved that they have pots of basil plants, don’t they look so delightful all in a row! Makes me want to make some yummy Italian dish!
I thought that this sign was cute. It says Trader Joe’s- Salt Lake City- This… is the Place! How fitting.
As I said there were so many different foods, that I have never even heard of! Chocolate Cheese! I did not buy this but my sister did and she said that it was really good.
I had heard about this Speculoos Cookie Butter and that is why I wanted to go to Trader Joe’s:
And they had a whole end cap full of it!
Speculoos is a gingerbread type cookie that they crumble up and make into this wonderful spread. It resembles peanut butter, but tastes like gingerbread! The cookies originate from the Netherlands, when I asked my son that served a mission for our church there, he knew exactly what they were!
Anyway, I can’t wait to try it in a baking recipe. I put some on my waffles and I have to say that it is quite addicting! (Maybe that is why I kept getting a little spoonful every now and then!)
They have rows full of cookies, even my favorite maple leaf cookies! Of course the yummy peppermint Joe Joe’s were all gone for the season, so I will have to wait until next year!
They have rows full of chocolate covered anything you want! This isle could be dangerous for me! I had to keep walking because chocolate and dieting do not mix very well. :)
This long isle is nothing but nuts! All kinds of nuts!
So Yummy!
They have all kinds of frozen foods and soups and pastas that I can’t wait to go back sometime to give them a try. I know that I sound like an advertisement here, but I seriously was just in awe of all the different things that I had never seen before!
Maybe I just need to get out more. :)
Do you have a favorite food that you have tried and liked from Trader Joe’s?
If so, I would LOVE to hear about it!
I love Trader Joe’s, I was so happy when 2 stores opened about 20 minutes away each from me!
Yeah! I’m not alone in my love for Trader Joe’s!
I love them too. One of my favorite snacks were the meringue cookies. In Vegas I lived just down the street. But here I am 3.5 hours away. :(
Ooh meringue cookies sound delightful! I am going to have to add them to my list! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and for sharing this with us!
I can’t wait to visit Trader Joes. I have visited TJ in Vegas and Washington when I visit the kids but I always have just a carry on and can only buy so much. But we will take gregs Ridgeline when we go so I can fill it up!
Rita did you buy some graham crackers? Delicious and the PB filled pretzels are excellent–I could go on and on!
Cindy, you may just want to take the Ridgeline! :) I have not tried the graham crackers or the PB filled pretzels, so now I will have to add them to my list! Thanks for the suggestions, I know there are so many things that I want to try out, can’t wait to go again!
I am so in Love with Trader Joe’s too! I just went there today for some coconut oil :)
