August 2015 Visiting Teaching Handout

Can you believe that it is almost August already??  Where did the summer go? Well…I guess that it is time for the August 2015 visiting teaching handout, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

This month the message is:  Divine Attributes of Jesus Christ-Meek and Humble.  You can see the entire message by clicking on the title.

I decided to use a quote and a scripture this time.  The scripture is from Luke 22:42 and the quote is from Elder Ulisses Soares.Aug-2015-VT-000-Page-1 Continue reading

May 2015 Visiting Teaching Handout

My oh my…where does the time go?  I can hardly believe that May is here already!  Before we know it, the kids will be out of school and summer will be in full swing!  I spent a good deal of time outside yesterday,  planting flower pots, but I did have a great helper with me…my 5 year old grandson!  :)  If I am planting flowers already,
I guess that it must be time for the May Visiting teaching handout for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!May 2015 VT handout Continue reading

40 Day Conference Reading Challenge-Feb. 2015

We are going to start our second 40-day Conference Reading Challenge in  Relief Society for church.  We did the first challenge in November and it ended with Christmas.  This second challenge will start Feb. 18th and end the Sunday before April General Conference.  Can you believe we are that close to Conference??   I made the bookmarks for this reading challenge again, and wanted to share it with you… for those of you that would also like to do this!  You read one conference talk per day for 40 days in a row!  This is a great review of what we were taught in the October conference and to see if we applied any of the talks into our lives!

January 2015 Visiting Teaching Handout

Today I have the first visiting teaching handout for 2015!  Can you believe that it is 2015!!  I am still trying to get myself back into a schedule and get organized for the new year, how about you?

This month the message for visiting teaching from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is:  The Attributes of Jesus Christ: Obedient Son.

There are a couple of different quotes in this message and both of them are excellent…but I chose the one from D. Todd Christofferson…”As we walk in obedience to the principles and commandments of the gospel of Jesus Christ…”    I love the part, “Obedience gives us greater control over our lives, greater capacity to come and go, to work and create.”  It is true that the more obedient we are the more control we have in our lives.

December 2104 Visiting Teaching Handout

How is everyone doing this Monday morning?  Did you all have a great Thanksgiving?  I hope you did…my husband and I went to Park City to a wonderful restaurant for our Thanksgiving dinner…it was delightful!  All of our kids went to their in-laws this year, so this is our off year!  I did cook a turkey breast for our Sunday dinner, so my husband can now have his leftover turkey sandwiches!  :)

This month for the visiting teaching message for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it is called “The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ:  Prince of Peace”.  I cannot think of a better message for the month of December!  I chose to highlight the scripture; John 16:33, where the Savior himself is talking to us.Dec-2014-VT-handout- Continue reading

“ites” Book Review

First of all I just want to ask how everyone is doing with their 40 day reading challenge?  It started yesterday, but you can always start today and catch up with the rest of us!  :)  I love this challenge and hope that everyone will enjoy it as much as I do.

Today I have a fun gift idea for those of you that are Mormons and have a small family or for those of you that are grandparents to small children.

It is this “ites” book:

Aug. 2012 Visiting Teaching Handout

The message this month is “Taking Action in Time of Need”  It tells us that as visiting teachers, one of our purposes is to help strengthen families and homes.  The sisters we visit should be able to say, “If I have problems, I know my visiting teachers will help without waiting to be asked.”

So I decided that “Visiting Teachers Can be the Cherry on Top”  would be the perfect thing to go along with this message, because we want our sisters to be able to say this about each of us! Continue reading
