4-Wheeling Weekend

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope that you all had a great Easter Weekend and got to enjoy at least part of it with your family and those that you love.  I really enjoyed watching General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints this weekend and I feel renewed and ready to go forth again!  I also enjoyed watching the mini series-“AD The Bible Continues.”  I loved the first show…what do you think about it?

My husband and I have a property in Upton, Utah.  It is a hunting property that has tons of roads and trails to explore on!  Our family loves to go up there to look for deer, go fishing, hiking,  having picnics, exploring, hunting for horn sheds, and to ride the ATV’s!4-wheeling in Upton-spring 2015 Continue reading

General Conference Packets

I love to print packets for the grandkids and for myself for General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I thought that perhaps it would be fun to share a round-up of some of the ideas that I found!

I love these packets to help keep the kids attention to the speakers and to keep them entertained so that the adults can enjoy conference at the same time!  Sometimes this is very difficult to do…but you can also use these packets when studying the talks later!

Some of these ideas come from Sugardoodle, which is a wonderful site for ideas for all of the church auxiliary programs!  If you have never checked it out, you might want to take a few minutes and look around…I am sure that you will love it!

This first link is the one that I love for my own personal use!  There are many pages and you might not want to print all of them, but pick out the ones that you want and put them in a binder!  This packet is a wonderful guide and great to use when the talks are being given, and again when you study the talks later!

40 Day Conference Reading Challenge-Feb. 2015

We are going to start our second 40-day Conference Reading Challenge in  Relief Society for church.  We did the first challenge in November and it ended with Christmas.  This second challenge will start Feb. 18th and end the Sunday before April General Conference.  Can you believe we are that close to Conference??   I made the bookmarks for this reading challenge again, and wanted to share it with you… for those of you that would also like to do this!  You read one conference talk per day for 40 days in a row!  This is a great review of what we were taught in the October conference and to see if we applied any of the talks into our lives!

Women’s Conference

We had a Stake Relief Society Women’s Conference at our church this past weekend.  It is an annual event that the  Stake Relief Society puts on.  The Relief Society is an organization for the women in our church.  There was a keynote speaker and then we broke out into different classes.  After all of the classes there was a luncheon.  I was asked to be in charge of the decorations for the tables and the cultural hall, for the luncheon.
I had a committee of amazing women to help me!Stake RS Women's Conf. Continue reading

January 2015 Visiting Teaching Handout

Today I have the first visiting teaching handout for 2015!  Can you believe that it is 2015!!  I am still trying to get myself back into a schedule and get organized for the new year, how about you?

This month the message for visiting teaching from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is:  The Attributes of Jesus Christ: Obedient Son.

There are a couple of different quotes in this message and both of them are excellent…but I chose the one from D. Todd Christofferson…”As we walk in obedience to the principles and commandments of the gospel of Jesus Christ…”    I love the part, “Obedience gives us greater control over our lives, greater capacity to come and go, to work and create.”  It is true that the more obedient we are the more control we have in our lives.

December 2104 Visiting Teaching Handout

How is everyone doing this Monday morning?  Did you all have a great Thanksgiving?  I hope you did…my husband and I went to Park City to a wonderful restaurant for our Thanksgiving dinner…it was delightful!  All of our kids went to their in-laws this year, so this is our off year!  I did cook a turkey breast for our Sunday dinner, so my husband can now have his leftover turkey sandwiches!  :)

This month for the visiting teaching message for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it is called “The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ:  Prince of Peace”.  I cannot think of a better message for the month of December!  I chose to highlight the scripture; John 16:33, where the Savior himself is talking to us.Dec-2014-VT-handout- Continue reading
