I love, love, love to decorate for Halloween but I think that it is still a bit too early for that so I decided that I could at least put out a few fall decorations! This is a pumpkin that I made for my front door. I love that I can put it out now, take it down for Halloween, then put it back up for November!
I am loving the monograms lately for some reason and this one just jumped out at me!
This was such a simple project. I just painted the back piece a tangerine orange color and the beadboard a pumpkin color. Painted the stem and the leaves and let it dry and then sand all of the edges to distress. I used a brown ink pad to darken the edges. Glue the two pieces together and add the vinyl monogram. I added some brown wire to make the twisty vines and of course some cute ribbon! I bought the wood at the Wood Connection of course, but this one would be very simple to cut your own.
This is what it looks like hanging on my front door.
I have been working on a couple of other projects that I will share when I get them completed! What are you doing for your fall decor? Have any of you made anything new, I would love to hear about it!
This post is from pink polka dot creations. If you are not reading it from our feed, it has been STOLEN. Please contact Rita to let us know. Please enjoy the posts!
This is super cute–I especially love how fancy the initial is. The scroll reminds me of swirling autumn leaves! Very cute.
Thank you. I love your description of the monogram letter! I had not thought of that, but now every time I look at it I will think of swirling leaves!
So cute. I agree monograms are so fun!

You are making me jealous that I am not in Utah with all your cute things from the Wood Connection! :)
Sorry! :( I guess that you need to make another trip to Utah, only next time let me know so that I can see you and your darling boys.
Wow, you make it sound so simple but it looks so effective! Beautiful, I want one.
This really was so simple to make, the distressing is what finishes it off so well. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really do appreciate it.
This is adorable! So creative! Would love if you’d join our Countdown to Fall link party! Hope to see you there! Have a great week! :)

Really like this project! What font did you use for the monogram? thanks!
I don’t know what the font is because I just bought the vinyl, I did not cut my own. Sorry
So pretty! Would love for you to share this at my link party. Hope to see you there!

That turned out so cute. I love monograms too!!!
I love the fancy initial and the darkened edges. Makes it seem so fall-y!
Great monogram door hanging. TFS!! Stopping by from The DIY Dreamer linky party.
Here is what I shared: http://craftybrooklynarmywife.blogspot.ca/2012/09/another-fur-baby-coat.html
So cute. I don’t have the means to cut the wood but can see interpreting this in other materials. Oh where did you buy the vinyl monogram? I really like that and would like to put it on a mirror. Will keep watching for your next projects.

I got the monogram at the Wood Connection in Utah, but they do not have a website. You have to go in to their store to buy it.
I love this. I like that it is great for fall and can be used throught Thanksgiving!
I know, I am liking “Seasonal” decorations for that very reason!
What a great idea for Fall! I am hosting an “It’s Fall Y’all ~ Linky Party” …. I would like to invite you to share this project, and other Fall related projects/recipes, you may have.
