Cute Monogram Pumpkin Door Hanging

I love, love, love to decorate for Halloween but I think that it is still a bit too early for that so I decided that I could at least put out a few fall decorations!  This is a pumpkin that I made for my front door.  I love that I can put it out now, take it down for Halloween, then put it back up for November!

I am loving the monograms lately for some reason and this one just jumped out at me!

This was such a simple project.  I just painted the back piece a tangerine orange color and the beadboard a pumpkin color.  Painted the stem and the leaves and let it dry and then sand all of the edges to distress.  I used a brown ink pad to darken the edges.  Glue the two pieces together and add the vinyl monogram.  I added some brown wire to make the twisty vines and of course some cute ribbon!  I bought the wood at the Wood Connection of course, but this one would be very simple to cut your own.

This is what it looks like hanging on my front door.

I have been working on a couple of other projects that I will share when I get them completed!  What are you doing for your fall decor?  Have any of you made anything new, I would love to hear about it!

    1. Thank you. I love your description of the monogram letter! I had not thought of that, but now every time I look at it I will think of swirling leaves!

    1. Sorry! :( I guess that you need to make another trip to Utah, only next time let me know so that I can see you and your darling boys.

    1. This really was so simple to make, the distressing is what finishes it off so well. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really do appreciate it.

  1. So cute. I don’t have the means to cut the wood but can see interpreting this in other materials. Oh where did you buy the vinyl monogram? I really like that and would like to put it on a mirror. Will keep watching for your next projects.
