Happy October everyone! It’s time for the Oct 2021 Ministering Handout!
I hope everyone is enjoying their fall weather. Here in Utah, it has been delightful. It is cool in the mornings when we walk and warms up in the afternoon.
I hope it will last for a while longer! I love fall, it is my favorite season…and October is General Conference…another one of my favorites!!!
This month for the ministering handout, I decided to go with a Halloweenish card. But the message is perfect!…it says, “Don’t be “afraid” to serve others!” The quote for this card comes from a talk given by President Spencer W. Kimball. It is titled, “President Kimball Speaks Out on Service to Others”. You can click on the title if you would like to read it in it’s entirety.
But I love the part that says: ” In the midst of the miracle of serving, there is the promise of Jesus that by losing ourselves, we find ourselves!” Isn’t this the truth!!
Here is the message card. All of the cards are formatted to a 4 x 6 size.
For those of you that would like the jpeg version, simply right click on image, go to “Save Image As”, then save in a folder. You can print from there or send it out to your favorite photo processing center.
As always…my images are for personal use only…they are not for Resale!
The blank card is for those of you that would like to translate. Or if you are in need of a cute Halloween card, tag, note, invite or handout, this is perfect for you! Simply add your own information to the card!Included this month, is this fun tag. Simply print and cut out.
If you would like to make the bottom tag perforated, you can go over it with a tracing wheel that you use in sewing. Just be careful to push down only enough to perforate the paper. You do not want it to cut the tag into two pieces!
This is just a fun idea and your sisters might enjoy putting the smaller tag in their journal or planner! You can tie your tag to a fun Halloween treat, candle, flowers, trinket, lotion etc. My ministering partner found these cute chocolate covered pretzels at Sam’s Club. There is a one eyed monster, a mummy and a witch’s finger. They are so cute!
Another treat idea that I like to do in October is caramel apples! My family loves the apple pie caramel apples the best, so that is the only kind I a make anymore. Check out how easy these are to make, by clicking on the link.

Please remember that it is not the handout that is important…it is your sisters! Make sure they know how much you love and care about them!
Thank you so much for continuing to provide this wonderful inspiration to share with out Visiting Teaching Sisters.
Nancy, You are welcome! Happy Ministering!
Thank you!
Jackie, You are very welcome. Happy Ministering!
Rita, thank you so much for the beautiful tags, and suggestions for gifts! Fall is also my very favorite time of year, but I expect Georgia and Utah have different kinds of beautiful nature to enjoy :) Sadly, during the time of ‘sheltering in place’, I began to neglect my ministering sisters as we couldn’t visit with each other. You have inspired me to remember what “ministering” is truly all about. I am excited to share these with my sisters, and to return to serving again.
Ruthie, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your beautiful comment. I fear that most of us have neglected our sisters to some extent during covid. But it is good to know that we can always start again and I am sure our “sisters” are happy to hear from us at any time. Thank you for all you do for your sisters and for sharing your story. Hope you have a great day and Happy Ministering!!!
Simply the best, is what you are, thank you for sharing your sweet talents. love you Sister Laurie
