Quilt Block of the Month(s)

I have both May and June block(s) of the month this time.

These were both so fun to sew and they were completely different techniques!  One is paper piecing, the other one teaches how to make flying geese.  I absolutely love learning a new technique each month.  Some of these I have done before, but it seems like everyone does it just a little bit different and it is great to learn all the new ways!

This is a paper piecing block called,  “Twelve Triangles” .  When you do paper piecing, your seams and corners match perfectly!  I love how exact you can be with paper piecing!  Don’t you just love the variations in the colors?  They are beautiful.

The blocks for June use flying geese rectangles.  All of the green points are a flying geese.  I have done these before, but I learned a new way this month and I think that I like it even better than my old way.  It seemed like I could get a more exact piecing!

This block is called, “Martha Washington Star”.  So pretty.  Again, I love the color combinations that they have come up with.

I am loving this block of the month program.  If you ever get a chance to do a block of the month and you like to sew, I would encourage you to it.  It makes you sew them every month because you have to take the finished blocks back to the store before you can pick up the next kit!

I love this idea and the only hard part is waiting for the next month! :)

Hope you are having a great day!  Love Ya!

    1. I love these fabrics too, but I did not pick them, the store puts together the kits for the block of the month quilt. I am getting the kits from “Just Sew” in Highland.
