I made this Star Table Runner from one of the pattern’s in the new Lori Holt book “Farm Girl Vintage”. I am loving this book and wanted to try one more of the blocks to make this simple, yet beautiful Americana table runner! My friend and I are still working on our Americana quilts. We are adding extra borders onto the quilts and that is all we have left to do before we can quilt them! But I wanted to make this table runner in the meantime because I absolutely love anything Americana! I have a few things that I leave out year round! This is what my star table runner looked like before I added the binding to the edges. I put the red, white and blue strip between each of the star blocks to set them off and I love the results!I just did a simple all-over quilting pattern and added a few stars here and there. I was going to try to do a pantogram pattern on this table runner, but could not get it to work the way I wanted it to…so I just did a free hand pattern. Here is a close-up of the finished star table runner with the binding on it. This is a simple block to put together, so this was an easy table runner to make! This is what it looks like on my island in my kitchen! I just adds a fun touch of color and patriotism to my kitchen! I will leave this up all summer because anything Americana means summer to me!
I love the table runner Rita! It makes me want to break out my sewing machine! I agree it definitely feels like summer.
Question are you going to do a 40 day conference reading challenge again?
Emily, I am glad the you are ready to break out the sewing machine! :) Just start with some easy projects and soon you will have the sewing bug like me! Yes, I am going to do another 40 day conference challenge, this one will end right before Oct conference, so it will start in Aug. That is coming up soon, I guess I had better get started on it!

Awesome! Thanks so much Rita!
That is so cute! I love all your crafts and ideas. Thanks for sharing them. I do love Americana decorations, also, and made a table runner for the 4th of July. I’ll take a picture of it and send it later.
I really do enjoy your newsletter. Thanks so much.
