Starlet Baby Quilt and Label
I am so excited today to show you the newest member of our family!!!Isn’t he just the cutest angel ever??? :)
We are beyond thrilled for him to be here!
Several weeks ago, when trying to decide what quilt I wanted to make for him , I received my first copy of the Block magazine from Missouri Star Quilt.
There were some wonderful ideas in there and I already had some 5″ charm packs.
So when I saw this quilt, I knew it would be the one!The pattern is called Starlet. it is on page 17 of the Block Magazine.
Vol 5 Issue 1, 2018
The name of the fabric is called “Pure” from Moda. It is a few years old, but I love all of the fun baby boy prints in this line. And when you use a charm pack, you know all of the fabrics will go together. So it makes it easy to piece!
The back of this quilt is the softest minky that I have ever used to date!
It is delightful!Look at all the fun prints in this pack! There are several with different words…I think those are my favorite ones! When using 5″ charm squares, a lot of the time the only other fabric you have to buy is the background fabric. The border fabric was in my stash already!Blues and browns are perfect for a darling little boy. Look how soft this Minky fabric is!!! It makes you just want to snuggle with it!
Of course, now I try to make a label on all of my quilts to document them. This was a very simple label with a strip of the border fabric on it! You can make them so many different ways and it is fun to use a variety of techniques.
The important thing is that you do it!Another label on a different quilt. I just traced this one with a permanent marker. You could color it in if you wanted, but I liked the black and white. This is one of the quilts that I made a while back.
You can find the details about it here: Baby Boy Quilt.
So that is my Starlet Baby Quilt and Label.
I feel like I have not posted for awhile and it is not because I have not been busy…but because I have been busy, just nothing post worthy! We sold our cabin and so we had to move everything and get it all taken care of. My flowers are planted and we have made a couple of changes in the yard. When it is all done, I will take pictures.
Beautiful! But we are having a baby girl, grandbaby, so I need ideas for girls.
Julie, You can do the exact same quilt in girl colors! That is what is great about most patterns, all you have to do is change colors and you can use the same pattern over and over and they will all look different! Congrats on your soon to be granddaughter!
Congratulations, beautiful baby boy, such blessings…
He will take his quilt through life and always a piece of you , how wonderful…
Janette, Thank you for your kind thought…I love how you put it! I am very blessed to have so many wonderful grandchildren. They make life sweet! :)
Congratulations on your newest bundle of joy, Rowan! The quilt is gorgeous.
Sandra, Thank you so much for your kind comment. Babies are such a blessing and we are beyond thrilled that he is here!
Your quilts are absolutely adorable. Could I pay you to make one for me? My first grandson is due in October. :)
Colette, I am sorry. I don’t take any orders. I feel like I am barely keeping up with what I am trying to do! But if you sew at all, this one is fairly simple to make. Congrats on the new grandson! Hope you have a wonderful day!
Thanks Rita!!
