I am quite proud of myself today. I made a piece of clothing that I actually like and that fits me! That doesn’t happen very often and I really don’t sew for myself very much for that reason! But I saw this pattern made up at the “Dog Kennel Quilt Show” a couple of months ago and I just loved it, so I decided that perhaps I would try to make one. I was skeptical about it, but I liked the pattern so much that I bit the bullet and made it!I love the pleated hem on this pattern and the fact that it is a flattering a-line shape with a fun belt added at the waistline. There is actually a pattern for a crochet flower for the belt, but I just used this flower clip that I already had.
This is a Joel Dewberry Pattern. I have never made one of these patterns before, but I love the fit and so I think that I will have to check out some of the other patterns!
Here is the link for this pattern.
I added a little bit of length to this pattern because I am kind of tall and then I just made the rest of it like the pattern showed. This is a very comfortable skirt and I think that I am going to make one more for myself in a few months! So maybe I still can sew for myself after all!
Have any of you made any fun pieces of clothing? It really is quite rewarding when they turn out good, but when they don’t, it is sooo frustrating!
***I have a little side note today about my Ikea spice rack Book shelves. I ended up putting screws in my door because the command strips only held for about 1 day. I really loaded them up with books, so if you want to use the command strips, you will not be able to put very many books in them! But the grand kids love being able to see all the books on display and that they are easy for them to get to!
Have a great Monday everyone!

Now I really, really, want to make a skirt. I have so much trouble finding bottoms that fit ( skirts, pants, you name it ).
That skirt is the cutest thing I have seen in a long time.
Well done!
