Sassy Little Apron

On our recent trip to Waco, Texas, I found a darling little quilt shop that I visited, called “Simply Fabrics”.   I found this cute “Sassy Little Apron” pattern and decided that I “needed it”.  It is an easy to sew pattern and it has a very flattering fit!sassy little apron (more…)

Wildflowers at the Cabin

My husband and I went up to our cabin last week and it was a beautiful site!  As we turned around a bend we saw beautiful fields of Wildflowers at the Cabin!  There were so many of them that I decided I “needed” a beautiful bouquet to enjoy for the time that we were there!Wildflowers at the cabin (more…)

Blue Turning Twenty Quilt

When we were planning my dad’s 90th birthday party, he said that his favorite color was blue, so we used blue and yellow to decorate with.  I decided at the last minute to make a Blue Turning Twenty Quilt for him!  I did this quilt with blue and cream and I was able to find all of the fabric at a local quilt shop called “Broadbents”.DSC_7360 (more…)

Fireworks & Parade Fun Bags

It is the time of year for parades and fireworks, so I decided to make some “Fireworks & Parade Fun Bags!  I first saw this idea at eighteen 25 and thought what a fun idea.   I love watching parades and fireworks, but it seems like the wait time is long for the little ones.  I thought it would be fun to make some little bags with some goodies in them just in time for the 4th of July!  These are perfect for filling with your favorite treats and little toys!fireworks and parade bagsI put licorice, candies, poppers, bubbles, and snaps in this bag, but you can fill with whatever treats your family likes!

40th Anniversary Trip

My husband and I just got back from a 40th Anniversary Trip!  Our main destination was not to a tropical island, or a romantic European adventure, or some other world-wide spot, but rather it was to Waco, Texas…yes you heard me right…Waco, Texas and Magnolia Farms!

I love the show “Fixer Upper” and this was a dream trip for me!  I loved the family atmosphere and ALL of the people/employees were so friendly and helpful!  I was amazed at how friendly and kind everyone was no matter where we went in Texas!

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day!

Hats off to all you wonderful dad’s, husbands, uncles, and sons!

Father’s Day Clip Art – Victorian Family – Dad

(image from The Graphics Fairy)

I am a very lucky girl because I have the best dad in the world!  He is kind and never says anything bad about anyone!  He has been a wonderful example to me.  He is a very hard worker…he was a brick mason for his profession…and he taught me the value of work.mason hands

(I took this picture a few years ago for a photography class that I was taking and it is one of my favorites!)

He thinks of others and he has a soft heart.   He still grows a garden and shares with everyone, he lives on his own and does his own cooking, cleaning, laundry and yard work!  He is amazing!  He will be celebrating his 90th birthday this week and I think that is quite an accomplishment!dad

Happy Father’s Day Dad!  I Love You!

I am double lucky because my kids also have the best dad!  I am married to my best friend… he also is a very hard worker, he is very driven and he thinks of others!  He has been the kids #1 fan and supporter in all their sports, scouting and school.  He loves his children and grandchildren and would defend them in any situation that needed defending!  He is a great example and leader and we all love him!

I know that some of you do not have ideal situations with your fathers or husbands and that Father’s day is a difficult day…I hope that you can find joy and happiness in a friend, uncle or brother and celebrate the good men in your lives!

I hope we can all give the good men in our lives a big hug today and wish them a very Happy Father’s Day!

Thanks for Visiting Today!
