Stitched Halloween Pillow

I want to show you this fun Stitched Halloween Pillow that I did for my dad!He lives in a care center now and so I wanted to decorate his place a little bit for fall.   I made this several weeks ago, but am just getting around to posting it!!

This fun pillow was easy to stitch up and I love all the fun fonts and colors!

The pattern is from: Once Upon a Vine, it is called “spellbound”.

You not only embroider the words, but you also applique the word “Spooky”.  There are fun buttons  and ric rac that finish off this cute Halloween pillow!

My granddaughter and I went over and decorated my dad’s door and we had a great time doing it!I found this cute Farmer’s Market wreath that has a vintage blue truck on it!  I learned how to drive on a truck just like this…so it was perfect!

For his kitchen table, I made this fun Halloween table quilt! If you need a fun, easy project, this quilt is just the thing!  The pattern for this is from Primrose Cottage Quilts.  It is called ” Simple Star Topper”.  If you go to Primrose Cottage Quilts and sign up for the mailing list, she will send you free downloads!!! This pattern was one of them!

It is a great stash buster project!!!  Only it does not take very much of your stash!!Here is the pillow on my dad’s couch, he can see it from almost every angle in his room.  And with the table quilt, he is ready for the holiday!!!

So that is my Stitched Halloween Pillow.  What projects have you been working on?

There is another project that I have been working hard  on to get completed!  It is a full sized quilt for my dad and I am excited to show you in a few days…so stay tuned!!

Thanks for visiting.  Hope you have a Spooktacular Halloween!

  1. What fun decor for your Dad! You are such a good daughter. I loved bringing little decorations and treats to my Dad when he was in assisted living. He loved anything I brought. Miss him so much. Enjoy your time with your Dad and grandchildren. I love seeing you beautiful sewing and craft projects. I, also, noticed your pumpkin made from a book and wondered if you made that. Would love to know how you made it, if so. Thanks for sharing!

      1. Thank you, Rita, for the directions. Praying you find peace in your life and your Dad’s. Blessings to all your family.

  2. I love the things you made for your father. They definitely make a room in a care facility personal, homey, and the resident (your father) knows he/she are loved and cared about. I know by experience. I am a 61-year-old residing in a nursing care facility. I have respiratory issues at times and because of those issues I am wheelchair bound. Otherwise I am like any other adult who wishes to hold the fulltime employment I had at USU and take care of myself. The dreary room just add to one’s mood.

    1. Teresa, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your kind comment. I appreciate your sharing your story with us. I hope that things are going well for you. I know that being in a care facility can be very difficult, but there are also many things to do that can help with that. I appreciate all the care that my dad is receiving and the peace of mind that we as a family have knowing there is someone there at any time of day or night! May the Lord bless you!

  3. Dear Rita: You are such a talented woman and I appreciate all you bring to me in the emails I receive (goes for others too, I’m sure). I am going to try to find the Spooky kit to make, it looks like so much fun. Also, pumpkins can be made with Kerr jar rings sprayed orange; tied together in a round and a felt or any kind of stem depending on your creativity. Thank you again, love what I saw today!

    1. Beth, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your kind comment. I appreciate your sweet words and your support. Thanks for sharing the canning jar rings pumpkin idea, I love that one too! Hope you enjoy doing your project as much as I enjoyed doing mine!!! Have a great day!

    1. Susan, Thank you so much for your kind comment. It was fun to decorate his room and he enjoyed it too. I am now thinking about what we can do for Christmas!! :) It is fun not only for me but for some of my family too! Hope you have a wonderful day!
