Oct 2023 Ministering Handouts

Well, Happy October everyone!!!

Fall is in the air and the weather is finally cooling down a bit.  The leaves are changing colors and it is time for sweatshirts, football and comfort food!

This month I have a challenge for you!!

I challenge each one of you to not be afraid to share one of your talents or gifts with the ones you minister to!

I know this is kind of scary for some of us, but we can do it!

The thought comes from a talk by Dieter F. Uchtdorf, titled: “Happiness, Your Heritage”

We may not think that we have any talents or gifts to share, but as Elder Uchtdorf says…that is a false assumption, for we all have talents and gifts…every one of us!This is the message card.  It is formatted to a 4 x 6 size.  For those of you that would like the jpeg image, simply right click over the image.  Go to “save photo as” and save in a folder of your choice.  You can print your own or send it out to your favorite photo processing center.

Please remember that all of my images are for personal use only…they are not for resale. The blank card is perfect for those of you who would like to translate.  Or if you are in need of a cute Halloween card, note, handout, or invite…all you need to do is add your own text!

To add text, you need to save this as a jpeg image as said above.  Then import the image into a word processing program or a program that allows you to add text to an image.  You can then add your own text and format it however you want!

I added a tag with some of the gifts and talents that some people possess.  What is a talent that you have that you could share with someone else? Here is the blank card that you could use to make your own list or if you would like to use it for a fun card, handout, note, etc.I made these fun little Halloween pillows for my girls.  My mother taught me how to sew, but I had a dear friend, Bev Southwick, who taught me how to piece quilts.  She took the time to teach me and to teach classes for several sisters in our ward.  She was such a dear friend and I think of her often and I miss her a lot.

If sewing is one of your talents, I used sixteen different Halloween fabrics cut into 2 1/2″ squares.  Piece them together and you can add a ric rac border if you want. Then simply sew to a backing piece and stuff!  I crocheted two flowers to add to  the pillow and a cute little bulb pin with 3 small buttons.  Easy Peasy!

What talent or gift could you share with the ones that you minister to?  I think taking the time to share with someone is a great gift!

Happy Visiting!
