I finally got my “Block of the Month Quilt”, quilted and the binding on! Yahoo! This was a really fun quilt for me and I learned so many new techniques and patterns! This is from the quilt shop, Just Sew, in Highland, Utah.
It is called “Sew Classic Sampler”, by Gigi’s Thimble.
As you can see there were many different blocks from the Courthouse steps, Twelve Triangles, Martha Washington Star, Arbor Window, Dutchman’s Puzzle and the appliqued blocks with the Dredsen Plate. There were six different block patterns in this quilt, as well as a little applique. Three kinds of piecing (regular, paper and template) I love the bright colors and the combinations of the pinks, reds, greens, blues and yellows!
This quilt is now hanging in my entryway at the top of the stairs. It looks so fun and summery there and I am so glad that I got it done before summer was over! :)
It seemed like I was always hurrying to get my blocks done by the deadline so that I could take them back to get the next ones. But I am so glad that I had that deadline because it made me get it done…and I must have liked it enough because I signed up for the the block of the month again this year! Boy am I a glutton for punishment! :)
If you have an opportunity to do a block of the month from a quilt shop, it is a great way to learn new techniques and patterns and they will teach you as you go!
Do you have any fun summer projects that you are working on? If you are like me, you might have a bunch, but if I don’t get them done for this summer…there is always next summer, right?
Oh I love it so much. I don’t know which block is my favorite. And all the fabrics are so pretty. Good job.
